Scott Duxbury: The KUMB Q&A
I am delighted to announce that WHU CEO Scott Duxbury has kindly agreed to follow in the steps of predecessors Paul Aldridge and Eggert Magnusson by being the subject of the latest KUMB Q&A.
As usual we'll be taking questions from members of KUMB along with us, so if there's anything you'd like us to ask Scott on your behalf, send your questions to editor@kumb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (either by conventional email or clicking on my email link to the right) and we'll get through as many as we possibly can during the session.
For anyone who may not have read them first time around:
Eggert Magnusson Q&A: http://www.kumb.com/qa.php?id=10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Paul Aldridge Q&As: (2000) http://www.kumb.com/qa.php?id=1;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (2002) http://www.kumb.com/qa.php?id=5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thank you.

Scott Duxbury
This has just appeared on the West Ham till I die Blog...
Scott Duxbury
June 26th, 2009 - 4:44 pm I’ve just come back from interviewing West Ham Chief Executive Scott Duxbury over lunch in Docklands. We covered a huge amount of ground and it is going to take some time to transcribe the interview, so you will have to be a little patient, especially as I am away most of the weekend. To give you a few tasters though, Duxbury…
* Details “The Project” - his vision for the club
* Believes we can win the league.
* Explains the full story of Zola’s capture and why he nearly didn’t sign
* Tells how the banks tried to force the sale of Scott Parker in January
* Reveals he nearly quit over the issue
* Says has been no contact with Carlos Tevez or his representatives over a return
* Is adamant that Dean Ashton will NOT be sold to Stoke
* Says Lucas Neill may well stay at the club
* Reveals a stonking half time entertainment plan for the Napoli game
* Tells why Jeremy Nicholas has a job for life
* Says Rob Green’s contract talks are on hold
* Says the club is looking to sell Davenport and Faubert
* Explains the kind of player the club wish to bring in over the summer
Enough to be going on with? But rest assured, there’s a lot more. I’m going to print the whole thing with no interpretation from me. It’s a word for word record of our 90 minute conversation. I have to say I have been impressed by Scott’s openness over the last six months. Ever since he came out fighting in the transfer window, he’s been like a breath of fresh air in his dealings with the media. Please don’t get the impression I speak to him often, or anything like that. I don’t. This was the second time I have met him, but I am impressed at his passion for his job, his vision for the future of the club (which he talks a lot about in the interview) and the clear glove in glove relationship he has with Zola.

When is your lunch?
Re: Scott Duxbury + iain dale
Of course West Ham will not sell Ashton to Stoke, he wouldn't go there!
It seems though any interested clubs now know the asking price, funny that.

As soon as Mr The Junction can get it typed up. We'll probably be running it in parts over the course of the next few days as it's so long.Memorial Ground wrote:When's the KUMB one being published?

Re: Scott Duxbury + iain dale
TBH I wondered if I should post this because I don't really want to upstage the KUMB version but....UTJ has all of our questions so it won't be the same....it is Friday...we are all bored....it is something tangible to start moaning about. I hate the close season!

Since the interview with Mr Dale took place straight after ours did - in fact we probably delayed their departure - there will almost certainly be a bit of overlap. After all I'm sure most of us want answers to the same questions!

Re: Scott Duxbury + iain dale
Coffee, tea and biscuits and water were provided at our meeting. I believe that UTJ and I stuck to iced water. Mr Duxbury had several cups of coffee.Georgee Paris wrote:Was that like a brunch type meeting?
Before the interview I enjoyed breakfast at Cassetaris but UTJ missed out on breakfast due to traffic problems on the A13. No Balti pies were harmed in the making of the interview but I can't speak for the interview with Mr Dale.
Any other food queries?

As many of us stated and got slagged for
i recall many people saying there would be a fire sale and we would sell key players. BG would hold a fire sale.
That the banks wanted it to happen but it did not happen, endorses the view that BG prevented a fire sale.
BG to hold a fire sale
BG to avoid a fire sale.
Who won
You decide
Am I missing something?
