Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
reasonably happy - think this is more due to what came before than anything else, glad we didnt lose anybody, reasonably optimistic without getting too excited about the new forwards I did feel we need full backs & wingers as well though
Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Happy beyond reason so will have to declare absolute delight.

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Absolutely delighted.
Didn't sell, covered the only area of major concern. Didn't spend needlessly like some were moaning about. Just because you have funds available, doesn't mean you spend them just because you've a hole being burnt in your pocket. That's the sort of irresponsible behaviour that got us into this mess.
Glad we didn't bring in a defender as it would've been a waste of money we don't have. The players out there would have added nothing in terms of quality and I feel we have enough quantity.

Considering our circumstances a couple of weeks ago I am absolutely delighted with the transfer window.

The quantity of strikers means we're now bullet proof as can be reasonably expected injury wise up front, which considering our position is a wise choice IMO.

Delighted we retained our England players .
Would have preferred a RB to come in with 2 rather than three frontmen , but no real complaints .

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Reasonably happy. The only thing I worry about is our slight lack of proven full backs. We do have Spector and now Daprela though, so although one of them is unproven, I can't grumble too much.
Not losing any key players, and getting Quasie and Jiminez off the wage bill is fantastic. Then bringing in 3 strikers as well... VERY pleased with all of that! Let's hope our defence can be as steady as it has been in the last few games and that our new strikers can produce the goods up the other end of the pich, starting against Burnley this weekend.

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Reasonably happy - If Straumer were still 100% owners I would be delighted as I fully expected to lose at least one first team player, so yes I'm a fickle bugger.
I would have liked another RB, as others have said competition for Faubert and allowing him to move forward to right midfield for some games. IMHO the strikers signed are a good mix, Mcarthy has a good premiership record, Mido might come good and ILan is a bit of a gamble.
Perhaps I'm the only one disappointed to see Jiminez go? Yes he was taking time to settle but if the club were in less turmoil and we could have given him more time he might have still come good.

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Disappointed.
Thought the 2 Davids wanted to make a statement of intent.
Another case of West Ham making do...........Only time will tell.
edit: Happy we didn't sell Green, Upson, Parker & Cole.........Always a silver lining

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
No one from the first team sold, some extra bodies in and some deadwood cleared.
Given what would have happened without the takeover, I am delighted.

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Said reasonably happy purely due to having no significant loses.
Unsure about quality of what we've brought in overall, but it is competition for places and someone else to play off Cole and his 'killer' touch! As someone commented to me re: Mido.......ABN.........Anyone but Nouble is a bonus.
Up front was our priority and we didn't have the resources to splash the cash widely but agree that 3 may be overkill, however, with McCarthy's injury issues and Mido's presumed lack of match fitness maybe Ilan is the first choice for a bit?
The Summer should see us invest in the back line hopefully with fullbacks for both sides and another CB as a priority.

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Taking evertything into account. The amount of time we had to do the transfer business, the small amount we had to spend and compared to a host of other clubs, the appeal of the club to prospective players, I have to be absolutely delighted at the capture of these players. Sure, I was not convinced about Benni McCarthy and an unknown player to most, (Ilan), but G&S have kept their word they would address the imbalance of the squad and they have. We should now be able to stave off relegation and get ourselves safe. All these signings are short term signings and next summer, I expect them to be more adventurous in the transfer market and do everything to push us on next season and that should see us sign a new goallkeeper, a solid cenral defender, even possibly two if Upson leaves and a new quality right back, plus a top striker. I think this will all signal the end for Zola and a new, more seasoned manager brought in

Re: The January transfer window [POLL]
Reasonably happy......3 gambles I suppose but surely one of them will come off?
I would be delighted but G & S did raise the expectation bar a bit with talks of £8 million to spend..........
Hopefully we have enough firepower to stay up..........but the summer will be very interesting with Cole, Upson and Green all probably thinking about moving on.

Reasonably happy.
The key players are staying and we have made some reasonable additions, but as usual time will tell.
A month ago we would have been masturbating furiously at the thought of being in such a "healthy" position.
The only blight on the window was the obvious lack of a major name signing, as if any major name would sign in our postion and
of course Redknob sticking the boot in! :arry:
