Don't you think they would've kept Zola if that was the case? An occasional pat on the head and you could ship out half of his defence without hearing a squeak from him. If anything they have a history of appointing strong-willed managers that constantly fall out with them...travisbickle wrote:[ And, perhaps on a more serious note, is he just going to be a 'yes' man to G&S?

Re: Manager 13: the poll
that argument could cut both ways. The strong willed managers have fallen out because G&S interfere, so perhaps this time they want someone they can control more...miles wrote:they have a history of appointing strong-willed managers that constantly fall out with them...

Re: Manager 13: the poll
I don't remember voting in that one but at the time Mark Hughes was my first choice with Uncle Avram second choice.
In view of both mens performances at their respective clubs I think its fair to say I'm a no-nothing ****er

I voted Gregorio Manzano, can't remember why but he is currently mid table with a Sevilla team that finished 4th last year.

Re: Manager 13: the poll
I voted for that Pardew fella. Was managing some third division side at the time, now he's at one of the biggest clubs in the country and his latest result saw them go 8th.
I just see this sort of talent.

Re: Manager 13: the poll
Crikey I forgot he was the most popular choice on here! In comparison to Zola being the least popular choice back in 2008. Just goes to show that no matter what we think - its generally going to f*** up anyway
I voted pards anyway.

Re: Manager 13: the poll
Honestly, who here really thinks we've got a team of 11 players good enough for the top flight? I certainly don't. What with injuries to Hitz and Collison etc and signing players like Barrera and Reid for the future (not saying thats a bad thing); our season was doomed pretty much from the start.
Our only chance of survival comes in January with the transfer window and players returning from injury. And personally I'd like to see a fresh new manager who will give the team a spark in there as well.
