I find it hard to believe that Zola spend 30 million....

As for the players that he brought in...

Franco, Ilan, Mido et el were the board cost cutting....you cannot heap that on Zola...

Kovac I have said... Ilunga who was pretty decent in his first season and a bit...

FatMaccy the board says was Zola's insistence...I was never sold on that...

BUT with all of the ***** everyone says he bought...he kept us up..Grant looks like not...

And if we are to be believed that all of those Zola's player were inordinate *****...Grant replaced them. So he should have done better ..

Sounds like you're the one proving my point...

:P

Blackburn really aren't very good - and even without Parker we should be good enough to win.

Give Bilic a go, he's got some balls, he's a bright bloke, he's played recently at the highest level.

Saw Ray Wilkins before the game, was he there with Sky or is something more sinister afoot?

Also heard through a friend that Hughton has been with the Dave's as their guest the past 3 matches :|

Targets need to be a lot more realistic now....

Chris Hughton
Lee Clark
Gus Poyet

probably end up with Dean Windass or Paul Peschisolido

Would give the club a massive lift in my opinion.

Choices (realistic):
1) Allerdyce
2) Curbs
3) Warnock (if he leaves QPR)
4) Howe
5) Mad Dog

I don't care how controversial these choices are they will all get the best out of the team.

I don't care how boring the footbal is, we play hoof ball anyway and I just want us to win some games.

Hughton must be favourite (MoN won't drop down and won't work for the Daves - Lambert won't leave Norwich) but what about alternatives? How about Malky Mackay - not sure he'd leave Watford who are about to get new owners but he's done a great job on a budget and created a good team. Knows the league and takes no crap.

For me right now, my joint number one choice just wont happen (Lambert or O'Neill). Neither will take a step down, and who can blame them?

My list would be:

Short term deal for Warnock, if as expected QPR get rid.
Long term contract, with clauses to benefit WHUFC, on Eddie Howe
Short term deal for Allardyce

Hughton, in my opinion, was fortunate in that he was blessed with having the best squad in the division by a distance. He wont have that luxury with us.

So, Warnock, Howe, or Allardyce for me, realistically.

Although I'm still in anyone but Car Crash land.

It was all so avoidable. And that's what hurts.

Agreed, I'm not convinced at all by Hughton and I think he was lucky to keep his Newcastle squad together.

Warnock and Allardyce yes, Howe no. Howe is very, very young (39?) and looks about 26. I just can't see our players respecting him and his lack of experience will cost us dear. I also think it would cost a lot to prise him away from Burnley, who only recently tied him to a long-term contract.

I'd try Bilic over Hughton or Howe as I think he's got more about him as a bloke.

If Reading dont get promoted, anybody thought about Brian McDermott?

I've rated him ever since he joined Reading, no nonsense type manager and has done wonders at Reading with a good management style. Seeing as we're down, he'd be top of my list along with Hughton.

Agree that the options need changing, none of the above have any chance of being manager here next season (except for none of the above option!!)
