Re: The January 2012 transfer window
Carew, Piquionne, Sears and Nouble all still with us (although one or two might still go out to Turkey or Russia or on loan).
Who of those can you definitely still see playing for us and being a factor this season ?
Provided Allardyce finally decides to play a more positive and attacking system and starts putting players in their natural position I'd love to see Sears and Nouble as out and out strikers, maybe from the bench. I'm still convinced both Sears and Nouble can score plenty given the right support from midfield (Morrison, Vaz Te and Taylor should be helpful in that department).
As for Carew and Piquionne I hope someone signs them and finally takes their wages off our books...

Re: The January 2012 transfer window
So after all the messing about with token bids we finally sign some players. With the amount spent for what we got was actually quite good business and despite last nights result I feel we have more than enough to go up and if we don't big Sam will have to go.
Re: The January 2012 transfer window
Just to put things in perspective, twelve years ago we paid £1.5m for Titi Camara and another £2.5m for Rigobert Song. What a great transfer window that was (well, it was for :arry: )

Re: The January 2012 transfer window
He played last night and the window shut at 11pm, so unless it was a rush down there or a quick signing without meeting up, I would say there is no truth in this.Rocketron wrote:I was told today that Nouble had gone to Brighton, on loan. Is anyone able to confirm or deny ?
Thanks
The loan window is now closed and opens on the 8th Feb I believe, but as has been previously mentioned, there are still a few places where transfers/loans can happen (Turkey & Russia are the main 2) where we could still shift out a player or two

Some meff on Wiki has actually put Morrison 8 and Maynard 23. Also not convinced why people think Vaz Te will take 28, even though Kurucsz is on loan for the season, I assume he will come back in the summer, so I don't see his number being given away.
As I said before, I'm hoping we can free up some other numbers before we need to allocate the new guys (11, 19 and 30 spring to mind)

Piq especially, but also Carew,
Nouble, Sears (out of interest although I'm sure they're not on very high wages)

Re: The January 2012 transfer window
Interesting to note the amount of recently signed contracts that have an extra year option, yet Kevin Nolan is a straight 5 year deal. Even Tomkins was 4 year and 1 year option. Collison 2 year option, although I presume thats injury record related.
