Got no chance with N'Koulou. Most of Europe's top clubs are after him. So Fanni it is.?

Faye is certainly a better defender, without question.

It's just a case that the legs have gone.

Can't see us paying £6m for Butland (value I saw quoted somewhere), when we need defenders. And we haven't seen Spiegel yet, so who's to say he isn't as good.

He's over hyped, he's nothing special. Half decent goalkeeper but no better than Carson,Kirkland, Robinson or Foster at that age, if anything worse.

For those that love stats, Butland isn't in the top five actim index for the Championship.

Fabrice N'Sakala and Richard Ortiz are being linked to us today in the European press.

If we're going to spend big money on a player then they have to be a significant improvement.
Can't see Butland being value for money.

Surprising to see Diarra already being linked with a move away. Based on what I've seen, he's slow and old. Given time he might settle and adjust to the pace of the Premier League, but I'm not sure we can afford to carry a passenger until he does so. I hope he proves me wrong, but then I also hope Noble and Diame play the rest of the season without missing any games..

By the sounds of it, if he wasn't such a **** he'd be playing for a top four club by now.

Will be an astonishing waste of talent if they go down.

Waste of money for them if they got him. Petulant, mercurial midfielders aren't what they're short of.

Swansea are in for another striker from la Liga ~ some geezer from Osasuna for a reputed £1m. Didn't get the geezers name, but that club seem to have the midas touch at signing absolute steals from clubs at bargain basement prices. (They also only paid £1m for Vorm, one of the best and most agile keeper's in the Prem) so if anybody knows who this geezer might be it raises two questions:

a) How come we have overlooked him ?
b) Having overlooked him, as this has now become public knowledge, can we check him out ?

I think the Osasuna player is that Belgium, Roland Lamah. Thought he was more of a midfielder, he's scored 3 in 45 games for them according to wiki.

What does that even mean?

By saying was', we're just agreeing on the aforementioned fact that Faye's legs have gone.

Ok, for clarity, on ability alone, Faye is the far superior defender, in just about all departments.

For the purpose of the thread/point, no, he probably wouldn't have quite cut it.

No it would appear that he was only rested for the cup game. I wrongly assumed he had been dropped due to the number of goals shipped this year.
