Means nothing really, betting was suspended on us signing Berbatov in the summer more than once. Same goes with Anelka.

Oh wow, they look identical, we should've signed him purely for comic value.

The Diarra thing is interesting. Clearly Sam has spoken to him, you cant have a player in your side who plays various different positions and not speak to him. If Diarra's words are to be taken as completely true (and I dont think they should be taken as gospel) then its probably the fact Diarra has never asked for any clarification on his role and Sam has assumed he would understand that his injuries have affected his place in the starting XI for the time being. We can all see its common sense that Diarra be a little down the pecking order, his fitness is rebuilding and other players have staked their claim and cant just be pushed aside.

I dont like the fact he is speaking so openly in the press, but there are probably just some crossed wires and hes reacted badly. Hes definitely being paid well, so I enjoy the fact he is angry about not playing. Good, I like decent players to be annoyed when they dont play. It may be that this forces Sam to go have a long talk with him, and that problems are ironed out.

I also think he looks more comfortable at the back for us. The pace of our league does take some adapting to, and the midfield can be bypassed easily. As a holding midfielder he might find that a problem in how he plays, whereas its a lot more in front of you as a centre back. He could find it benefits him to have a few games there before stepping out again. I dont think he looks a bad player, some are way overreacting, but hasnt had any chance to adapt yet. He may have to play there is Reid is injured anyway, least he should be a smart enough player to handle Berbatov.

Diarra’s class and heaps better than Tomkins (a view I'm confident with after his limited playing time). Although we'd already lost the game before he came on, last night his composure, first touch etc.. makes me think we’d be foolish to let him go now and the stuff in the press is exactly that – stuff in the press.

Whether it’s an agent, translation or frog news twisting the events who knows but I can see him being a big player for us.
