Re: The January 2013 transfer window
"The transfer window has closed. David Beckham is a PSG player. Nacho Monreal has just become an Arsenal player. Chris Samba, Jermaine Jenas and Andros Towsend are QPR players. Jack Butland is a Stoke goalkeeper. Peter Odemwingie has turned into a pumpkin."

Re: The January 2013 transfer window
It's not just about today it's the whole window. Personally we should have signed a GK & LB but we can cover those positions.w6hammer wrote:Very dissapointed with today and in particular the failure to bring in a new keeper.I really hope this decision doesnt comeback to haunt us.Its a big risk.We are left with an out of form 37 year old,a rookie in Spiegel, and Henderson who does not cut the mustard at prem level. big thumbs down
Ok we missed out on Robinson for reasons unknown but we should have had other options as a back up.
It's not as bad as some would make it seem

Re: The January 2013 transfer window
Robinson could still get his contract cancelled by mutual consent and sign for us, Blackburn were willing to let him go, but the haggle was with the pay off, not so much Henderson going the to them, they want him off the wage bill, and he doesnt want to stay.

I feel Butland was one that could have been. Esp as he signed for Stoke. They now have three good keepers, and we have...

Keepers can move outside of the window I think.
It's one of the many grey areas.
If Jussi gets sick (he hasn't caught anything else all season so not likely) or injured we can sign emergency cover.

Probably the biggest value decision made this window is that Quintin Tarantino is gonna make his next film in Stoke

Our squad is better than it was at the start of the window... so for me I am happy. We need constant improvement now revolution at this stage.
Now we just need a win... to bring back confidence... to increase that gap again... to settle some nerves.
A distracted Swansea at home are just what the doctor ordered

Premiership survival for 5 years and at least another one to come and all the money that brings insmarthammer wrote:QPR - Full-on tapping up? Odimwinge (sp) paraphrasing the spoon fed press conference rhetoric of QPR to Sky in full glory followed by ……the massive betrayal.

As for our dealings – we did them early and they were the best we could afford/come right now.
12th place awaits.

Does it matter or not if Henderson is in the 25 man squad or not?mumbles87 wrote:We dont need to sign an "emergancy keeper" if he gets injured. We have that 24 hour re call condition again.
Re: The January 2013 transfer window
Henderson IS in our 25 man squad (as this is a premier league thing) then he can be loaned out and play for ipswich. Then if we recall him we can play him anytimehamagram wrote: Does it matter or not if Henderson is in the 25 man squad or not?
I think the two key moves of the window are the fact that Diame didnt leave and that Maiga is still here! he can offer us something different and does score.

Is there anywhere you can bet on Odemwingie(sp) going to a turkish club before their window closes?
