He can still sign permanently, but his contract wouldn't start until July the 1st I think?

Losing Rob Hall on a free (less a tribunal fee) would be pretty rubbish.

He's looked handy in the small amount of time I've seen him.

Didn't Sam say in an interview recently that Rob Hall would be the one to watch?

You can sign anyone outside of the transfer window, the transfer just goes through the 1st July. Like what Norwich have done with Garrido: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... anent-move

If I remember also didn't Fulham sign Jimmy Bullard about a month before the season finished?

Thanks for the info, I never knew that. I thought it was just free agents and the like you could sign. So there IS hope of rubbing Readings noses in it then! :D

That would be a shitter if rob hall left like that.. can't say i see it mind, allardyce himself said not too long ago if anyone from our youth squad would make the biggest impact he said Hall. The only problem is, if hall is like well i wanna play every game, i doubt we will offer that apart from a new contract with another loan out! Not ideal for the player himself!

Ambrosini on West Ham radar

Massimo Ambrosini has an offer from West Ham should he terminate his Milan love affair at the end of the season.

According to Sport Mediaset, the 35-year-old could be set for a move to England if he isn’t offered a new 12-month deal at Milanello.

West Ham, the report claims, are ready to hand the former Italian international a two-year contract.

Ambrosini, who is also of interest to MLS outfit Chicago Fire, is set for talks with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani next week.

The No 23 has played in 19 Serie A matches this term, as well as four in the Champions League.

The club captain was signed by the Diavolo back in 1995 from Cesena and has been at the club ever since apart from his 1997-98 loan stint at Vicenza.

It is understood that Ambrosini currently earns €1.5m a season in Milan.

If it's true then I think he could be a good acquisition. He's getting on but I think SA wants a defensive midfielder to sit in front of our back 4. Since Noble got injured and GON took his place, we've looked stronger defensively. Unfortunately GON is a limited PL player.

I suspect that even at 36/37 Massimo Ambrossini could manage that as long as he limits his forays into the opposition's half. That would allow the likes of Noble, Nolan, Diame, Cole, Collison etc more freedom to get forward...

I know from my playing days, that it is the easiest position to play effectively as long as you limit how much you go forward.

Sam has a history of getting that extra out of ageing talents, he was never the fastest player and used his technique and brain to make the most of his talent.

Max McKnight signs for West Ham United

Eight-year-old Max McKnight, from Sudbury, will be turning out for West Ham United next season after signing for their Academy team.

McKnight, a pupil at Littlegarth School, Nayland, has been training with the Premier League side’s youth set-up for the past six months, signing forms in April.

McKnight has been playing regularly for Colchester Villa and was spotted by West Ham when Villa played a friendly against the London club.

He starts at the academy in August, which will mean travelling to London four times a week for training and playing matches, with mum Naomi acting as chauffeur
****, my 7 year old niece goes to that school. I'll have to get the lowdown from her

Yea I can't see that happening, 36 years old and coming to the premier league, but what about Mathieu Flamini. His contract has also run out, and only 29.

a couple of years ago we gave him all of my sons west ham kits handed down and he supported us for about a year - which was hilarious until my mate got my son to support arsenal for 10 weeks.
Good to hear a local boy gets his chance still with the club in the days of buying youngsters from clubs around the world, one of the still great things about our club. Feel free in 10 years to say "I told you so" Psycho, I wish Archie all the luck in the world even if he is a Citeh supporter.
