His negativity is like a virus around the Boleyn...he has to go, and quick now.

I wondered that too.James P wrote:What do you mean?
Interesting results - and it won't waver much more than a few per cent either way now we've had the first 150 or so in.

He should've been binned a while back now - Dead Man Walking - I still don't think anyone can realistically save us though - but I'd rather get relegated after putting up a fight than going down with BFS at the helm...

I'm going stick. Daves, back your man in the window and let him turn it around.

No.
Poor planning, poor football and poor team selection (IMHO) and only one man to blame!

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
I'm still a yes, though in my heart I would off him in an instant for a "West Ham" manager - I just can't name that manager. Forever the dreaming fan who wants to see expansive pass and move football, attacking the opposition and getting the crowd on their feet. This pragmatic "respect the point" bull**** is not winning us enough points, the only reason for accepting it IMO. I think he will just about so enough to keep us up, though it is hard to see where the points will come from, then the owners need to think long and hard about the future.
As I keep saying, the owners have to back their man this month.

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
Yes from me - clearly yesterday has tipped the balance for many though. I still hope the board have the bottle to stick.
If our club wasn’t so financially compromised (as we keep being told) I’m sure Sam would have sought and got better players rather than the frees, loans and journeymen most of our squad consists of.
I'd love it if we passed our way from back to front creating 20 chances every match - we just don't have the players to do it - and a change of manager won't I suspect solve it either.

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
Would have probably said yes a month or so ago, but a definate no now.
He's been very unlucky with injuries, but that alone shouldn't be our downfall.
He's stubborness tactically could be the noose he hangs himself with.
Time to freshen things up, players and manager alike.
Next league game away to Cardiff, their first home game under a new manager - lets see how fired up they are.
And he take G & S and Brady with him as well!!

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
I am on the fence a little. As the poll is now and it would be a bit wet to wait and see for a few days, I will go no as im about 60/40 in that favour at the moment.
I prefer him to David Sullivan anyway.

Yes, only because I don't trust the board to choose a suitable replacement.

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
I think - and voted - yes. But something has to change before the atmosphere, be that within the squad, around the club in general or toward him by the vast majority of the fans, gets irreversibly toxic.
I don't know whether that's change of captain, change of formation/tactics, or change of personnel through the transfer window...but I think it's in our benefit to avoid it being a change of manager. Give him until the end of the season, back him and the team, and review our situation in May.
I still think we're more likely to stay up with him than without him.

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
I voted to stick.
I think the type of manager we really need is someone like Klopp, Low or Klinsmann. Guys that can transform a club and get us playing decent, "power" football and who can also attract great players. However, why would they join us? Does anyone really need that big a challenge? And, would our owners be prepared to pay the piper?
I wouldn't be opposed to Glenn Hoddle - I liked the way he had the England side set up in '98. But, I still have my reservations: a) he's a spud, b) he's a bit strange, c) rumour has it that he doesn't work well with the less skilled players and d) he's been out of the game a while.
Realistically, I don't think we can do better than Sam although I'm quite concerned that reinforcements haven't arrived even though the transfer window's only just opened. We desperately need another striker, centre back and defensive midfielder and real ones too. 32 year olds who want a last pay- day aren't what we need.
Whatever happens, I think we're now going to have to sacrifice the cup runs and try to get the walking dead back for the league games.
We can't be relegated - I don't want to swap my live coverage of every game on NBC's Sports Network for BBC Radio London. That would be really ****!

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
Yes from me, for a couple of reasons.
Stability, we desperately need it; hire and fire only brings success if you have Chelsea or City type money available which we clearly haven't
Lack of available managerial talent, if we dispense with his services who would you pick to replacement him from those available? If you ignore his current tenure Allardyce would probably be high on most peoples list.
That said the board need to back him or sack him and do it quickly.

Re: The Sam Allardyce Poll
Fulham had 30 shots against us, and I'd love to see a midfield of Noble, Joe Cole, Nolan, Downing and Jarvis trying to pass it around. Jarvis and Joe Cole were left on the bench yesterday while our defenders punted aerial balls up to Maiga for an hour, conceding 70% of the possession.smarthammer wrote: I'd love it if we passed our way from back to front creating 20 chances every match - we just don't have the players to do it
I get where the stickers are coming from but with a heavy heart it's a 'No' from me. I'm starting to dislike my own team.
