Matt Jarvis for Cristiano Ronaldo in a straight swop deal. I think Real Madrid will be all over that one

With Doneil and Diarra
Starting to look seriously good.
Add in Planky, Strinic, Micah Richards and Orjan Nyland - in place of those going out of contract and we'll be a good bet to win the league next year,

If we're going to upgrade Jarvis then hope it's a decent upgrade like konopylanka or Ayew and not a like-for-like in Townsend
Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours
Would prefer just keeping Song as our lone deep midfielder instead of two. Free up the other two to roam the middle.

Lasanna Diarra is the kind of player Sam could resurrect.

It is a problem if we are to believe the chairmen. The sheer class of him and song on the same pitch would be lovely to watch.claretcloggy wrote:with his salary? no chance..would LOVE IT though
Southampton being linked lured me in.

West Ham chairman David Sullivan insists NO stars will be sold in January
"We'd sell a squad player because we are looking at bringing players in in January. But we've got the luxury of buying for the future. Normally we are buying through panic but not on this occasion."

RVT (to a championship club for under 1 mil)
Morrison (to anyone for under 1 mil)
Jarvis (to anyone for 4-5 mil)
Id like to see Diarra brought in on a free to cover the boys at the ACON
we already look to have signed that Henry fella so thats 4th choice CB covered and next year can be 2nd/3rd choice. Reid can be held onto in the hope that he will sign but if he doesnt then least we have this new guy

I reckon Vaz, Maiga (permanent) & Jarvis are the obvious squad players

Agreed, Mumbles.
Vaz Te, Morrison, Maiga and Jarvis are probables IMO.
I reckon the "willing to listen" list will extend to Zarate, Cole, Demel, O'Brien and Jussi if they get a glimpse of the right replacement.
Six of these are out of contract in the summer any way.

zarate apparently will be allowed to go out on loan if a decent offer comes in. Wouldnt mind that as much as I think he still has a future with usbubbles1966 wrote:Agreed, Mumbles.

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours
To my mind the squad player that would bring in the biggest fee and frees up the most in wages to go towards new signings is Matt Jarvis.
Then Vaz is next likeliest. Though less money in/ wages to be saved from him compared to Matt. Maiga won't ever get better wages than he's contracted to be on here for the next 18 months. Surely he won't go unless we pay him off as per Diarra in the Summer. And Morrison won't go for a fee in January unless :arry: doesn't remember the lad's in court late January. I can't see us letting O'Brien go because of the versatility he offers us for (presumably) not a lot of wages.

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours
In San Sebastian the word is that Mauro Zárate has been offered to Real Sociedad on loan till the end of the season. La Real need a striker (Agirretxe injured, Finnbogason not doing well) but Moyes is not convinced that Mauro's the kind they need. We'll see what happens there
I think we are going to see a few peripheral players leave this window. Jarvis and Vaz Te seem to be prime candidates, but I for one would hope we'd keep hold of Zárate

Konoplyanka and Virgil Van Dijk, I follow Hibs and I've always admired Van Dijk. Composed and classy CB.
