Manager 15: The Poll
We've been running managerial polls here on KUMB for more than a decade now, stretching back to the (pre-)arrival of Alan Pardew in 2003.
So keeping with tradition, here's your poll for the successor to Sam Allardyce. 20 names, you may choose but one.

That's why I didn't vote for him. I think he's come out and said he wants a break from management anyway hasn't he?Fionn wrote:Not a realistic option but can't see how Ancellotti doesn't win this poll.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
I didn't vote for ancelotti because he's supposed to be having a back operation and is having time off for that reason - if he were available he would be my 1at choice.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
I'm a bit confused as to what was likely or not. So I voted for who I would want and that's the Italian at the top of the list

The question is 'who would you like to see' succeed Allardyce.Ozza wrote:I'm a bit confused as to what was likely or not.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
You should add some other more realistic names there. Chris Powell, Gary Rowett, Sean Dyche.
Billic, Laudrup and McLaren are the only names on that list that are gettable.
or maybe a none of the above?

I disagree, George. Can have a max of 20 options.Big George wrote:Billic, Laudrup and McLaren are the only names on that list that are gettable.

Bielsa for me . Loved his Chile side and his Bilbao team. Would mean wholesale changes but I would back him to make us better than we are, which isn't hard.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
From that list, Bielsa as the best of the 'possibles'
If I could take my pick, I'd go Klopp, Howe and Ancelotti but, it would seem that Klopp wants a holiday and Ancelotti needs surgery and I feel that it's in Howe's best interests to remain at Bournmouth.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
Had a hard time deciding who to select, which makes a nice change.
I ignored the "big 3" (Klopp, Ancelotti, Benitez) since all 3 seem to have put themselves out of the running in recent days for different reasons, but if there was even a chance of getting them, they'd certainly be the best choice.
I've been championing Bielsa to West Ham for years and would be delighted if it ends up being him, but I actually went for Unai Emery as a longer-term, more sensible option. He's a manager that's going places and it might be at exactly the right time and place for us and him to make a beautiful managerial union.
Would have gone for Chris Powell if it was an option.

Super Slaven Bilic as one of the more realistic options, hopefully signing a couple of quality Croats as the backbone of our new team maybe along with Demba Ba.

Carlo Ancelotti (free agent) - never gonna happen, needs back surgery, wants to take a yearUp the Junction wrote: I disagree, George. Can have a max of 20 options.
Rafa Benitez (Napoli) never going to happen, going to Madrid
Marcelo Bielsa (Marseille) never gonna happen, a poundshop PdC.
Slaven Bilic (free agent) odds on
Frank de Boer (Ajax) never gonna happen, said so publicly
Tony Carr (West Ham Utd) would have loved this post Harry, but now?
Paul Clement (Madrid) going to Derby? Why him over any number of bright champ managers
Roberto Di Matteo (free agent) god help us, we'll probably get him
Unai Emery (Seville) never going to happen. reminds me of all the Pepe Mel fanboys a while back
Eddie Howe (Bournemouth) never going to happen, would you?
Jorge Jesus (Benfica) never gonna happen, champs league to relegation fight?
Aitor Karanka (Middlesbrough) intersting choice but see Clement
Michael Laudrup (free agent) a possibility, but why would we want him?
Steve McClaren (free agent) see DiMatteo
Garry Monk (Swansea) never gonna happen, why would he?
David Moyes (Soceidad) See Monk
Alan Pardew (C Palace) unable to comment on this for legal reasons
Harry Redknapp (free agent) See McLaren
Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool) Luckily, seems to be staying
André Villas-Boas (Zenit) See Redknapp

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
Rodgers would be a good option for me if he leaves Liverpool, a solid manager who sets his teams up to play the way we want to play.
