Re: Manager 15: The Poll
UTJ - any reason why the 'Ginger Mourinho' isnt listed?
Havent heard his name banded about that much in the press either ... surprising given his record (albeit a short one), playing style, humility and how competitive he made Burnley last season. I like Howe and would love to see him here but Dyche worked wonders on shoe string with Watford and Burnley and has an attacking philosphy

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
I like Dyche but he was lucky in having the groundwork already laid for him by Howe. What I like about Dyche is that his players will press and press, and literally run themselves into the ground for him. They're all very fit and committed and give it a real go every game. They just lacked quality and if the board had shown a bit of ambition and spent a bit of money on a striker and a playmaker then they'd have stayed up IMO.

No, they just haven't done anything particularly noteworthy. Eddie Howe is the man of the moment which shows if you do well you'll get the attention you deserve.the pink palermo wrote:British Managers really are out of fashion aren't they .

All three relegated teams this season were led there by a British manager - QPR had two.

I want to change my vote to Aitor "Cockney Rhyming Slang" Karanka.
I just feel sorry for him, stuck on nil points.

and the teams that have outperformed expectations this year? Swansea, Stoke, Palace, West Brom, Leicester.Aceface wrote: No, they just haven't done anything particularly noteworthy. Eddie Howe is the man of the moment which shows if you do well you'll get the attention you deserve.

That's a reflection of the press, the relative budgets and the FIFA15 mentality of the fans of certain teams.Aceface wrote: No, they just haven't done anything particularly noteworthy. Eddie Howe is the man of the moment which shows if you do well you'll get the attention you deserve.

Rogers showed last year that a British manager, given a couple of world class players, can compete.
Monk has 56 points this year, Pardew 58. Meagre budgets, limited resources.
Compare that to the excessively lauded and massively budgeted Koeman and Pochettino.
Koeman has spent £70-£80m. Pochetino has done worse than Tim Sherwood with the same team, but the press won't stand up and say so.

So why are those three names not on the poll list?
Different to why Wenger,Jose and Van Gaal are not it but equally unrealistic.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
I've gone for Monk
Think there would not be much of a fuss surrounding him. Could come in and help to continue with solidifying us over the next few years.

Re: Manager 15: The Poll
One name that I'd be happy to see in the running is ironicaly enough an ex Sheffield Utd manager, Nigel Clough.
He doesn't have Premier league experience, but he has a positive style of football and an impressive record in the cups the last few seasons. We'd never be competing to be top 5 with him at the helm, but I'm sure we'd have something to cheer for before we say goodbye to Upton Park.
