Clear the decks .
I would out about 10 - Bosmans/loanees - but I reckon our deficiencies are so bad in a couple of positions that finding decent midtable options for relatively low cost shouldn't be impossible.

Top 8 is only four points away. Cut out the mistakes, find a centre forward who scores at least once a month.

The Insider will be dusting off his pen soon.

Expect to see "Working day and night", "Remain Frustrated" "Harder to secure players than they thought" and "delighted to secure the South american on loan" coming to an article in January.

"My sources tell me the player is mainly looking for Champions League football but the club remain 100% dedicated around the clock to bring in new signings. My sources also tell me that good news may be only just around the corner with a player agreeing to join us on a loan basis from the Bolivian Outback Sunday Pub Billiards Players League. He could be the next Carlos Tevez my sources tell me"

Might as well rename this thread

Recklessly ambitious Bubbles .

I take your point about how tight the table is but we have a tough run coming up and we are so inconsistent - occasionally brilliant, occasionally crap , usually somewhere between the two , that I have little confidence in us climbing out of current malaise .

Maybe the world will look different once Andy Carroll is back to lead the line .

I am thinking of next summer and always assuming we manage to somehow stay up. I thought I made it perfectly clear, I can't see the Dave's spending a penny in the January window

Try to see it Sullys way

1) Objective: Remain in Premier League

2) How to reach my objective? Sign quality players and also sign a new manager ( must be willing to work under my tutelage)

3) What will I do to reach my target? replace incumbent manager with a better yes man, do as little recruitment as is possible.

4) fob off the mugs ( fans that I tried very hard, I mean they swallowed it every other time)

There is one rider didn't Sully say that a 20 goal striker was coming in Jan and that the deal was done he was definatley coming. You can't make it up with Sully , I wonder if he has small man syndrome, and compensates by trying to be the big I am.

We have a big squad, getting healthier. I don't think a huge need for additions. Jettison Zaza. I think Payet will want to leave - that is a problem, but if it happens and we can sell him for a pretty penny then that money can go toward re-investment in the summer. Honestly with Feghouli, Lanzini, and Fernandes we have plenty of attacking midfielders.

Here we are interested in Gabbiadini, but why would he be any better than Zaza? Maybe just stick with Ayew, Fletcher, Calleri and hope Carroll and Sakho come back healthier in the spring. Assuming a return to health for several players we will actually have depth in the back (wingbacks and centre backs).

My sources close the club confirm we are looking at a former england international, who played in the premier leavue for years. The former celtic striker is without a club due to the end of the US soccerball world series premier cup season. And is keen on the project forever on going at the club.

Official Site two days later.

With a proviso, subject to no further long term injuries, and of course PR duties, photo opportunities for the media which of course come first, perhaps as agreed with the two Dave's and of Big Sam's insistence. lol
