So, given your comments this morning and the since revealed comments from Sporting's communications Director how open is your mind now ?

I haven't seen too much to convince me that I could trust either Sullivan or this other clown at Sporting.

Terrible way to conduct business and club affairs.

Furthermore it's been clear to me for some time that Bilic is effectively working his notice and I'd rather not spend money of that sort on a player who the next manager may not like .

.
I think that this describes and reveals exactly what GSB are up to very directly !. I am wondering just how Bilic is going to be able to handle and face down the upcoming Media Q & A session prior to the Huddersfield game.

My recollection of our ITKs comments on Carvalho was his personal fee was agreed through his agent... the ITK titbit referred to that only as then went on to say he would hopefully be flying in on that Monday..

Indeed that is what came out from other sources and right through the last few weeks was the only thing confirmed....

Of course we know Hernandez was Slavs pick just like Lanzini was...

With Arnie I am inclined to think that was also Slav because I really can't see Sully coming up with his name... I really can't

But what does occur to me was Thors comments about the deal involving some dodgy moves under the main deal.... so that does make me wonder if it benefitted someone else in the club or involved with club??

Just watching the game for Grenfell on tv. Both teams are playing better than we did the other week....we could've signed a few of these dudes. Haha.

Claim and counter claim seems to be spreading......
Liverpool have denied Barcelona's claim that they wanted 200m euros (£183m) for playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona director Albert Soler said the Reds put that valuation on the Brazilian on the final day of the Spanish transfer window on Friday.

Liverpool turned down three offers from the Spanish side for Coutinho, who had made a transfer request, and maintain the 25-year-old was not for sale.

The Anfield club regard Barcelona's claim as "absolutely false".

Lets see if our Chairman can salvage a fraction of his reputation by providing the evidence of a bid. God knows he could do with some decent PR at the moment. Time to step up to the mark and prove all the doubters wrong.

Mr Chairman, over to you.................................

Genuinely funny that one of the posters most apologetic of the board describes taking their words at face value as "keeping an open mind"

Well he did say that h wanted to raise our profile around the World.... It sure looks like his own personal profile is now spreading loud and clear with every little nasty detail being put up in lights. Looks like the failure of the Big Willy deal could cost him more than actually completing it, much much more indeed. Sadly the club and us could well be taken along for the ride mind. One gamble too many perhaps.

It's a shame that Sully feels the need to answer things on behalf of the manager and not answer from his position as Director of Football...

On the other hand Slav would not have done the same and responded so categorically on behalf of the board or Sully regardless of the truth of those words...

For me regardless of the real facts surrounding the Carvalho negotiations or lack of them I find the way Sullivan has said what he did as unprofessional and I would be equally as aggrieved by it if Slav had said something similar....

When you look back at what any of the holy trinity have said to the media in the last few years it's always a version of the truth to suit their narrative which usually if qualified would have a completely different meaning...

Like many other high profile business men/woman it's always their version of the truth which is usually obscured and misrepresented by omission or context...

It's a pretty direct translation. I've taken some liberty with the translation in order for it to make more sense in English.

"David Sullivan lies. Sporting Club, as has been said by our President, never received any form of an offer for the player William Carvalho.

The football industry is not like an adult video, where all obscene things are permitted. Because of this, the owner of a club needs to not engage in this sort of intellectual pornography.

David Sullivan has a responsibility/duty to prove what he says. In turn, Sporting Club challenges him to show publicly the offers that were made, as well as the evidence that Sporting received them.

One thing is certain; Sporting Lisbon, as has been said, does not cut off the legs of its players. But we have nothing to do with the actions of businessmen or relatives who live at the expense of players, and offer them from club to club, without a mandate, as if they are cheap supermarket merchandise, thus devaluing the athlete and the club, and creating lamentable situations that have forced, as in this case, Sporting Lisbon to take drastic measures in order to defend against these people that are parasites in the lives of some players."

The parasite part is a verb, but I translated it as if it were a noun. As warp said, my guess is that Sullivan was probably negotiating directly with the agent, and perhaps had agreed upon terms/trying to move the deal without Lisbon really being in the loop.

Maybe this is where the confusion lies. We worked out that we could afford Carvalho, but just not his legs.

That Portuguese article I think only goes to prove the accuracy of Jinxed posts... and is in most sense a similar way to that of Sakho and his agent who tried to manoeuvre an exit from us...

It also suggests if true that Sully and the board lied to Slav about bringing Carvalho or "trying everything " to bring him to this club... as clearly Slav would never have discussed Carvalho or bringing him here if he didn't think or had been told by Sully that we were in heavy discussions for him ... Slav would never have discussed it if he didn't think we were in for him or at least made a decent offer...

That then also suggests that Sully was lying too about the other 2 guys (the pole and Sanchez) being offered to Slav but him turning them down... because if he had done that it would only be on the basis of what they told him about being close to bringing in Carvalho .,,

No matter how anyone here rates Slavs ability as a manager there is no way he or any other manager would turn down 2 decent players like that if he didn't think he was getting a better option..

Or he realized they were just dicking around as usual, and tried to put some pressure upon Sullivan.

Meanwhile, whilst all Sullivan's lies have been spun the spiv has mortgaged the training grounds and the OS lease to raise funds - which, effectively is paying him and Gold their interest. We are being bled dry by these two conmen.

This 'Krychowiak and Sanches were offered to the manager'......isn't the likely scenario that we were told by agents that they were available and could have tried for them - but with no guarantee that we would have got them. Very different to the implication that Bilic was the sole reason we didn't end up with them. I've taken Sanches' comments since his move in particular to suggest that he moved to Swansea because of his past relationship with Clement.
