Giroud is definitely never going to happen. He could easily go to a big club in France and get European football.

No chance he will want to join a struggling side - he doesn't need to.

Iheanacho is a solid buy if we can get him. Maybe Zabaleta will be a game changer? Familiar face and all that. Still doesn't solve our striker situation on his own though.

We need to buy pace - we were a lot more effective when we had Sakho, Valencia, Moses etc. Remember when Carroll was only wanted for being an impact sub? That's what we need. Either we bring Valencia back as a "new signing" and let him have a go on the wings or we get rid & spend some money.

Snodgrass is a weird one. Seems a bit of a panic buy. No real pace but a dead ball specialist to have in the side? Can't see where he would fit into the team. Doesn't really offer much and tends the slow the play down a lot.

If we can buy sensible to suit a game plan then so be it. Let's not buy for the sake of the name or have a model along those lines.

Does Slav have a Plan A? Hopefully if he does get a licence to buy, he will utilize it and get us up and running.

Adrian has signed a contract extention.

If we get a new Keeper in, i guess Randolph is out

he's not a winger, he's only ever been good for us playing as a second striker (along with sakho).

Yep and we now have Antonio and Ayew for that role.

Really hope Cullen gets a chance with us next year. Love seeing one of the kids come through and a good piece on him here.

If Adrian is staying then we can probably rule out upgrading in that position. That should mean any budget we have should go on quality on a right back that can play wing back, a controlling centre mid and a striker that can press and score.

Any other signings should just be like for like with minimal outlay and I wouldn't push anyone out but for example Ruddy for Randolph, Sturridge for Carroll, Traore for Feghouli etc etc.

Id like to trade Ruddy for Randolph in the squad.. same with sturridge however id keep Feghouli.. talented player in there.. maybe Traore for Tore

Is it actually our medical team though, or just us signing injury prone players?

That's exactly where Oxford needs to go, proper club, use youngsters, play good football & decent following.

We should be running as far away from any deal for Ruddy as possible, in my opinion. Waste of a wage for another Randolph. Upgrade Adrian or don't bother signing a new GK.

As much as I like Adrian, you are right.

I suspect having just signed a new contract, he would of had assurances about playing time and being number one, I would assume.

Being cynical

Only 24 hours ago all the click bait sites were saying Adrian might leave due to lack of ambition (paraphrasing)

West Ham have taken up the offer to extend his contract, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll actually stay- cos just be extending the contract to secure a greater fee from a Spanish side?
