Hope is the little voice that whispers "maybe", when the entire board is screaming "NO!"

I think it is true regarding Lanzini's wages, maybe on £35k. I think we offered him £50k on a new deal. Arthur is on £35k too I believe. Such a disparity means unrest and jealousy amongst players will be a regular hazard. How have these so-called businessmen made their fortune is bewildering. I guess exploiting women in the porn industry of yesteryear was a lot simpler than running a multi-million pound football club.

There are only 188 days until it closes. (9/8 - Thursday before the season starts).

I must admit I can't wait for 500 pages of who is going to replace Carvalho/Dendoncker as the player that we don't sign.

I'd look to get William Vainqueur in on a six-month deal. Available for free, previously with Roma and Marseille, and although he wouldn't set the world alight he'd be an extra body in the middle of the park with Obiang unlikely to play again this season.
We've got enough Vainqueurs in the boardroom. We don't need another one on the pitch. :)

I think you've pretty much nailed it there iLL. That pretty much seems to be their business plan full stop. Sadly, you can't shaft astute businessmen/women like you can shaft vulnerable young men and women.

When the effects of the tranquilizers we've had to take to endure this one have worn off. Probably May

But there's still news. I've just seen Alex song, Nasri and David Sullivan at a hotel in Chingford!

Oddly. Sullivan was wearing a big rastafaeian hat with a free Nelson Mandela T shirt. . Pardon?

It was the 'free' part of the t-shirt that attracted him.

Doesn't look like we will be dipping into the Bosman pot then?

Alex Song, Jan Kerchoff - both would do a job for rest of the season

let's forget signing anyone to 'do a job till the end of the season'. We've been doing that over and over. This squad although short will just have to get the points we need.

Amazing how the Standard reports we will reopen the Dendoncker negotiations at the end of the season. Yeah right.... just like we did with Carvalho.

Hugh Jargon II wrote:Kirchoff left Sunderland due to Moyes not offering him a contract. Unlikely I would say.
He wasn't offered a contract because he'd been injured basically all season, and didn't have a comeback in sight. I'd take him, so long as he's a) paid a minimum salary with an appearance fee and b) only on a short term deal, or has a clause for summer release by us.

If he wants £10k pw plus or a guaranteed deal past June, I'd decline.

Another transfer window, another window of utter embarrassment and incompetence shown from GSB once again. I used to love a transfer window, now I wish they never existed.

A load of old b*llocks. Leak the name of a decent player at the start of the window....lurch into life on the last day of the window and slap in a low bid on poor instalment terms. Same every time.

bull****. Here's a thought, do the deal now and then announce he will be signing on 1 July or whenever the window opens.
