Yeah but Lumpolard and Rio had been sold before that season. Let's not forget, our larger squad was pretty ***** in the season we went down - we had Ian Pearce up front at one point.

Mad Dog. Was lucky enough to see him score his first Hammers goal at the Plymouth game at the start of the 89-90 season. My first ever game at UP stood on the side balcony bit of the North Stand with my dad. Amazing atmosphere. Don't remember much of the game apart from when Allen scored and in the second half when it seemed the whole place continuously chanted "Lou Macari's Claret n Blue Army".Jackanakanory wrote:

I've struggled to work out an answer to either of those questions.
Robson played for us between 71-74 and 76-79 (I must have seen one of his last ever games). I'd have thought that was in the earlier of the two periods.
