todays zaman

Continuing its transfer blitz, Galatasaray is reportedly planning to acquire Australian player Lucas Neill after recently obtaining Abdul Kader Keita.

Galatasaray manager Haldun Üstünel was reported to be working on a deal to transfer current West Ham player Neill to Galatasaray within a week. Galatasaray's Harry Kewell was also said to be taking the initiative to persuade his fellow Aussie. Stating that they are pleased to have acquired Keita, Üstünel said he hopes that Keita proves to be fruitful for the team and for Turkish soccer. “We have landed a talented and player on our team after a long process. We have been following him for two years,” Üstünel said.

Asked whether they plan to transfer in players other than Keita, Üstünel said: “We will discuss these issues with our coach. We are not making individual decisions. We carry out transfers and acquisitions in accordance with our budget. We will keep acquiring players as possible given our budget and Galatasaray's prestige.” Noting that secrecy is crucial while holding transfer talks, he said they are trying to keep their talks as quiet as possible

Good news about Neill if true, although there are many contrasting reports about him in Turkey.

Don't want Finnan either...if he is free and as back up, then yeah.

How would you know, just because no deals are done doesn't mean we aren't trying.

The window has been open 4 days and people are twitching already.

If 2 days before the window shuts we are in this position then we are in trouble.

But for now, relax and enjoy the sun. All will be good with Duxbury in charge. 8-)
