I have a feeling this could be the most one sided poll in the history of this website.

Re: Stratford 2012: the running track [POLL]
I dont see how it can be justifiable. Surely the point of changing stadia is to upgrade the facilities and experience for all involved.
Whats the point of going to a game if the view and atmosphere are better in your local boozer?. I previously voted Yes. Now I believe if we get the stadium, it wont be the government left with some white elephant.......
Reminds me of the Benni McCarthy deal...sounded like a good idea, turned out to be too expensive and totally unsuitable for football.

Re: Stratford 2012: the running track [POLL]
It's a tricky one as there's still the possibility of some kind on temporary seating over the track (I'm hoping for deck chairs), if that's the case my answer is yes . . . if however, the front row is where it is now, my answer is no.
So right now, I'm the only undecided vote.

I'm against a move to the Olympic Stadium full stop. The Boleyn might have its faults, but it's part of West Ham. It has history and atmosphere. I would hate to see the club move to some soulless bowl, especially one with a running track around it. So, my vote is still an emphatic NO.

Thanks UTJUp the Junction wrote:A number of you have asked for a new poll in order to gauge opinion on the mandatory inclusion of a post-games athletics track at West Ham United's proposed new venue, the Olympic Stadium.
So, here it is. Fire when ready...
Here is the official "mockup" of the stadium in football mode, care of the 2018 World Cup pitch doucument. Yes there might be changes, such as the extension of the roof byt people can easily see the distances between the stands and the pitch.

Can't see at this distance but is the running track still there? I thought it was traditional to have two straights on a running track rather than it being a complete oval. Would make the 100m interesting though.GideaParkHammer wrote:Here is the official "mockup" of the stadium in football mode, care of the 2018 World Cup pitch doucument. I reckon there should be a cage fight to decide.

Re: Stratford 2012: the running track [POLL]
I did say the render was of the stadium in football mode. Brady, on behalf of West Ham, has said that the track would be covered by grass in Winter, (when the athletic season has ended), and this grass would be removed in Summer to reveal the track.Shanghai Hammer wrote:

We will have one of the fittest teams in the Country.
I am also thinking - entertainment ~> Hammerettes + fans + running track
Re: Stratford 2012: the running track [POLL]
I was pro the move, but if all they want to do is just cover the track then that's a no go for me. Probably be best to just build a new stadium. The stadium of light cost sunderland 29m and espanyols new stadium 60 euros.

Re: Stratford 2012: the running track [POLL]
Although the verdict would probably be similar, this poll only samples a small portion of our fanbase... a bit early to close this one no?!
Personally, land ownership (or lack of it) worries me more than being close to the pitch.
