Now we seem to be confirmed as future OS occupants and this is a 250 yr lease which is essentially the same as co-owning it with the Athletics Board our income potential must be enormous?

If the stadium ends up being 60,000 capacity, even if average ticket prices are dropped to £40 per person thats £2,4000,000 every home game in gate receipts.

On top of that I gather from CH's report this morning that we are going to receive half all the profits from all the other events which go on at the stadium. Even if has a 10% of the success of the O2 that represents a decent amount of money and would be a steady income throughout the close season.

Additionally we will probably get sponsorship for naming rights etc and as our profile improves this should increase.

Various articles (although I cant vouch for the accuracy) claim that we have achieved all this funding through public money at low or non existant interest rates.

Could it be in 10 years time we will be financially self sufficient and able to compete for some of the better talent in football?

An average of £40 a ticket doesnt seem that optimistic to me... when you think that some of our highest priced tickets are what £70? Then you have executive boxes and seating (which Karen wont give away like Dux did).

Even if it was only an average of £30 a ticket thats still £1.8m per home game.

If the very cheapest tickets we offer now are £37, do you really think an average of £40 is unlikely?

We are going to take 50% of all income from the stadium. That includes 2 or 3 concerts per summer. In concert mode there will be 100k + people in there paying 50 odd quid for a ticket. I think that represents a nice bit of income especially once you take into account all the other sports events, people coming to the museum (to be housed in the stadium) all year round, etc.

We won't sell 60,000 tickets at 40 quid for every home game though. More like 40,000 for 20/25 quid I'd say...still not bad though.

What a great thread. Think this one will run and run and could even rival the 'Olympic Stadium threads for longevity; we shall see. I am very exited about this too. It is just what we need in order to compete with the bigger clubs and yes, it should, in essence, enable us to get the revenue streams in place to attract star names to the club in future years. The immediate future of course, is about staying in the top flight of English football, consolidating and then building for the future, so that by the time we kick off in the OS in season 2014 / 15, the stadium adjustments will have been completed along with retractable seating in the lower tiers etal and I am hoping, with a team ready to compete both home and away with the very best in the land. Will it be too much for us to expect the club to develop a winning mentality too ? May you live in exciting times !

For the short term at least, I'd ammend those to 40-45,000 at £20-35 a ticket.

I think your average Russ is maybe a little high due to trying to bring the punters in at the start of Stratford.

I can see many kids deals etc to start, when established, maybe two seasons, your 40 sheets will be about right I reckon.

You are though spot on, the income we receive will be far greater than we get from the Boleyn, even at the start so it's all good and hopefully will be turned into monies for bringing in players.

I guess as well, if we stay PL this season, consolidate next season as a mid table side and we invest heavily in the squad summer 2012 then that will bring the punters in more so, meaning your 40 sheets average may well be closer to the mark.

We can only speculate to what the revenue potential is, but one thing that we can say is the club will be making more money than they are currently, and that can only be a good thing for the future.

Also, forgot to mention that we are going to be giving 5000 tickets per game away to local kids (I got this from a presentation by Ian Tompkins a couple of weeks ago) so we'd only ever sell a maximum of 55,000 tickets per game at whatever price.

We will not be co- owning it with UK Atheltics but Newham Council, athletics will merely be a sub-tenant and pay rent.

It won't be zero interest just a percent or two below normal bank rates and the 40 million will have to be paid back before the partnership sees any profit.

I would expect us to make a modest profit on the football related income when compared to the BG, additional corporate income less rent etc, but the big question for me is the income stream from non football related activities. Whilst these are split 50:50 with Newham I've yet to see it confirmed that the "West Ham" 50% will find its way to the football club, our owners could get even richer while the club just jogs along as a mid sized club.

Given all the hype about how wonderful Stratford will be, I was anticipating going back to something more like the £1.50 I used to spend to stand in the West Enclosure (though with much worse view & atmosphere). So £30,000 from 20,000 of us. Isn't that more realistic? I am prepared to stand (though a lot less capable than I was).

Current matchday income is a little less than £1m per PL game , less for cup games .

Given the fact we have already said we will be reducing ticket prices, even with higher attendences ( up from 32k to say 55k - which I feel sure would exceed their wildest dreams in year 1), I would suggest matchday income of £1.5m top whack for a PL game .

To put it in context , Manure make £3.2m per game .

The difference being 21k spectators plus their corporate will sell for rather more than ours will unless we move up the league .
