Diamanti and Brescia relegated

Postby Roby on Sun May 08, 2011 8:33 pm

Brescia lost 2-1 at home to Catania and are relegated so we won't be getting the extra cash from the Diamanti deal.

He scored a free kick for their consolation goal but we miss out on the £300k written into the deal if they had stayed up.

And no, I don't think he'd have kept us up nor do I want him back. Although I do think he did more for us than the useless and greedy Obinna who effectively replaced his flair in the side...

At least Obinna tries to get a bit closer to goal before releasing a wayward shot.

I think Championship / Serie B is his level.

I don't think there is a cat in hell's chance he will ever come back but we could do a hell of a lot worse.

Delete this thread before we have a 100 pages discussion on triquesta's or whatever the blood position is called and how we didn't play him enough in his best position. etc etc

Have we worked out if he was a striker or midfielder yet?

But isn't he more of a defensive forward? Or an attack-minded keeper, playing on the left, to the far right behind the sweeper, nodding on for the lone striker whilst goalhanging? Me, I'm not so sure.

I thought he was good for us, a bit slow maybe but meh. Don't know why everyone dislikes him TBH

Sorry for Brescia and Diamanti - but lets get the fella back to East London asap - he'd rule the Championship with Noble and Collisson - he could be the new PDC - or Neil Mellor - gotta be worth a punt though - **** me beggars can't be........

Let's be honest, he'd have probably scored Keane's three chances in the past three games. He is about the same level of pace, but with greater levels of creativity, a better range of passing and a better long shot.

His free kick was a proper screamer

Bergessio scored against them, weren't we after him at one point?

Also Jimenez scored a nice goal today.

can't see anyone disagreeing - so let's get rid of Robbie and replace him Diamanti - and shut this one down - he scored 9 prem goals iirc.....

Is good enough to play in Serie A...wouldn't be surprised if someone comes for him.

My other team Samp are on their way down too...maybe they can go for him. In July we were playing a Champions League qualifier after beating every team in the top 4 last season. Now Samp are just one defeat from a possible relegation.

Very good player, shame he left we could have done with his creativity, scored 7 goals for us and wasn't used that much by Zola.

we got rid of him like the experts on here wanted and it worked out well for us eh?
games like saturday i would have felt we had a chance of getting a goal with him in the team, more so than some of them out there.
