after etherington leaving who was our only left sided midfielder/winger we did not replace him with any..i am not counting boa morte here as he is crap in most of the games and was never a winger and cant kick a ball straight..so whosoever player who considered himself or preferred playing as a striker and was left footed we used to play Them out of position thinking being a left footer he will do the job..be it diamanti or obinna...
And the same goes for right back position after lucas neil left untill jacobsen was signed who was little better than faubert..
I know if's and an's pots and pans there wouldnt have been any tinker..but i do feel if sulejmani didnt have those work permit problems left side of midfield it would have been tad bit better if not good..its been about make shift for sometime rather than plugging the gaps and filling in the final pieces in a jigsaw..
Where we are now there are many reasons to it but this is one of the reasons..

Can't say that this is the most surprising news.

Daprela can't get a game for this mob either.

In the few Brescia games that I watched Daimanti, as Zola did they played him wide right and not his best position of left back in the dressing room.

Midfielder when the team is attacking, striker when the team is defending.

West Ham United have asked the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) to suspend Alessandro Diamanti's player registration with Brescia Calcio spa with immediate effect.
The Italian international was transferred to Brescia in August 2010 for €2.2m. Due to the failure of Brescia to pay the latest instalment fee, West Ham have asked the FIGC to suspend the player's registration and requested that the national association and FIFA impose sporting sanctions until the matter is resolved.

Diamanti - 2009–2010 28 apps 7 goals
Cole - 2009-2010 30 apps 10 goals

And cole is meant to be our "no.1" striker....

diamanti seems headed to bologna (which is building a pretty decent side) alongside with caracciolo. daprela has fallen out the radar here in italy, hardly got a game and when he did, pretty much awful he was.

oh wait, just found this bit of news, sounds interesting

West ham asked the italian FA to put the registration of the contract between Diamanti and Brescia on hold starting immediately. West ham website reports "the player was sold to brescia on august 2010 for 2.2M euros; due to the failing of payment of the last installment of that sum, west ham asked the italian FA to suspend the registration of the player, and also to FIFA to apply sanctions to the club until the matter is solved.
Prompt reply from brescia, with a official press delcaration, signed by sport director Andrea Iaconi "this is pure bull**** (lol, literally!), we're paying the installments as by arrangements: some are still to be paid, but we will do with no doubt. This will not, in any case, prejudice the eventual selling of the player to Bologna."

sorry if already covered, just thought it was interesting.

Take Daprela, back he is better than our left backs we have in the youth and reserve teams he is better than Ilunga as well.Said at the time shocking deal giving him away for nothing.

But because he is foreign no one seemed to care, him and Nouble have both the same age and have both played very little for us but when they have done Daprela looked more likely to make it as a player and yet Nouble get's protected by everyone on here why is that?

He took chances and was creative. That's a great combination, so long as it isn't overdone. I'd take him back.
