Re: Eidur Gudjohnsen
I don't think i'm being naive to think that Big Sam did in fact pull the plug on the deal.
The fact that figures and contract conditions had already been discussed with WHU and he had another medical suggets that he was willing to join us.
Then when WHU found out that AEK Athens started getting intrested, it's totally plausible that the club and Big Sam were awaiting a final decision from Gudjohnsen and decided to make the decision for him.
It seems to me that the club and specifically the new owners will be trying their hardest to get rid of the raft of players in the squad that are here on a wages beano and won't be looking at adding another freeloader to the squad.
Big Sams managerial history also suggests that he rarely sticks with players that have no less that full commitment to the cause.
But I forgot, we're not allowed to believe anything that the club say is true are we !

It is a hope that, one day, UTJ will put one of those padlocky things on this thread.

That is why this thread should stay open for a little while longer. You can reel off name after name of players who have come to this club with a decent reputation but actually contributed nothing worthwhile.Rays Rock wrote:

Getting over-excited by big name players who turn out to be a shadow of the player when they were somewhere else.
At last we have a manager who is looking for more from the players that he wants. This might be what a lot of the squad needs - you show me what you can do and you'll get your chance if you work hard enough.

As has been stated before he new BF Benny wasn't committed to his team and sold him to us.
He won't keep players that are a waste of space if he can help it or sign them in the first place!

Especially don't trust Icelanders who come to buy your club with money they've made from a glorified Ponzi scheme.fireman wrote:Never trust an Icelander.
