I think in against teams lower in the league we should try something like this, with Faubert and Taylor used as attacking wingbacks….

-----------------------Almunia------------------------
------------Faye----Tomkins-----Reid-------------
Faubert------------------------------------------Taylor
---------------Noble-------Collison------------------
-----------------------Nolan----------------------------
-------------Carew----------Baldock-----------------

Put Lansbury and Diop in if you want... more about formation than selection

Assuming no Tomkins or Taylor, I'd go something like:-

Solid, yet with the potential to cause them problems.
Plenty of scope to change things around, bring Baldock and go to 4-4-2, if need be.
I'd be inclined to stick Brian on the bench, as we could do with having a proper wide option

It doesn't really matter what team we play does it? We're only gonna punt long balls at the solitary striker we choose to play and totally bypass the best collection of midfielders in the division again.

Brighton are the best possession side in the league. We will get dominated in that sense, but it all depends on how soft their centrebacks are. Set pieces will decide whether the game is ours or not.

I know virtually every pub in Brighton. 'The Trafalgar' in Trafalgar Street, 2 mins walk from Brighton station is a great little boozer Turn right outside station under the underpass and pub is left of station on your right. Alternatively,'The Railway', right outside the station is another great boozer, Wooden floorboards, terrific bar staff, so you never have to bey an over worked bar man or maid for a drink and usually, has a friendly, hip crowd inside, or you could try 'The Walkabout' in Queens Road near the pier, a large, rowdy boozer, if that is you sort of thing, There are plenty of other excellent boozers in the vcinity of The Pavillion, but Brighton is very hilly and that walk back up the hill back to the station looks like the north face of the Eiger when you're sober, let alone when you've had a few !!

We lack width and pace and I'm certain he'd be more use on the flank than piq.

Been doing well for the development squad so throw him in I say.

I would actually like to see Montano given a chance but for some reason we've loaned him out.

I was more asking who he was, never heard anything about him, but all of a sudden his name keeps popping up in peoples team sheets.

I like BFS but until he's got the balls to drop Nolan I can't see us going up. If he's not fit then he shouldnt play. If he is fit then Newcastle have pulled the wool over Sams eyes. I'd make Noble captain.

I'm having doubts about that .

Sam sent us out 4-4-2 last night .A huge reward for Carew and Baldock following their good perfromances at the weekend , but due to us not touching the ball for quarter of an hour , and Taylot getting injured we revert to 451 , as I suspect it was going to be Ipswich Town mark 2 .

Does he know his best midfield combination ?

I'm not sure I do anymore, if I ever did .
