I can just about accept performances like this one away from home if we win the game. Just about.

I do believe though that Allardyce has to play more expansive football at home to keep the fans on side.

Well I certainly want us to go up this year, don't you Romford? For me, I just want to see West Ham do aswell as possible, tired of seeing us play well and come away with **** all, so it's actually nice to win a few games away for a change.

Come on guys, lighten up...We're 2nd.

If this has already been posted then my apologies but from the Brighton Argus tonight:

"Poyet told The Argus: “It’s the first time I have lost and been happy, because West Ham came to Brighton to stop Brighton. How nice is that? If you had told me that in November 2009 (when he took charge) I would tell you no chance, your dreaming."

I am dreaming too Gus, can barely believe it.

Unfortunatley not, no :( However watched it on TV and i'll agree we looked *****, but what pleased me the most was the 3 points. I know how you feel, we are playing dier football away from home, but at home this year of recent we've been playing really well, take the 4-0 thumping of Blackpool for example, been at every home game this year and a couple of aways, but hopefully things can only get better for us.

I'd much rather be at Whipps mate...got a better chance of staying alive at the end of it.

Although 2 Granparents died there...they have always given great care to all my family.

You were lucky mate

I've seen some decent games at home...and a few away. I still cannot get my head around this manager though...and i am trying.

I just cannot get my head around the tactics and i was always proud that we tried to play the game the right way.

Maybe im getting old (and by God did i feel it in The Fishbowl Pub at 2am this morning)

Ironic that mine died in Oldchurch, Queens predecessor.

Tony Adams was born there too. Whereas Becks is a Whipps Cross boy like meself.. I've always sort of forgiven & appreciated him as a bloke, just for that fickle reason.

I was mainly joking, but I can see why you feel that way fella.. I actually thought we played some pretty decent football for a while at times, after a terrible start of last season under Grant.. The problem is, 2-0 would always become 2-3 by the end of the second half.

It's such a difficult balancing act, this. Grant was clearly clueless, & we'd have gone down eventually under Zola too (whose track record, football wise, was similar to Grants - Fleeting moments of really good stuff, mixed with **** & baffling tactical decisions, that last season under him was WORSE, football wise, than a lot of Grants)

Problem I have, & it's going the same way, is that my worst season as a fan of WHU is Curbs most successful in charge.

I am ashamed but honest enough to admit that I left a fair few games that season after 80 minutes, to avoid the rush.

I haven't done that yet under this lot, & I'm torn by feeling this way when we're #2, & beating the odd team 4-0...

But this football is generally quite hard to accept for me. & it overrides most of my optimism & logic of wanting to see us win things.

Sadly in 2011 that is all that counts to the owners of all clubs

The PL gravy train has taken the sport out of football.

Waiting for the Olympic Flame to arrive & save it fella

Aye. All pound shops & payday loan centers.

It's probably why I couldn't give a **** about all the other stuff to do with WHU - When pubs that have existed for a lifetime like the Bakers Arms get turned into a William ****ing Hill overnight (even if they were ****!) & the Dog track sits there, vacated by crooked estate agents who missed their chance to get in on the boom, you just become grateful that you have this sanctity at all...

Being heavily tested at the moment. It's ALWAYS been an unpredictable form of escapism. Whereas almost every trip this season has been predictable. & not in a good way.

Romford's death is worse than Walthamstow's though.. I was genuinely gutted at what was left there when I went back about a year ago.

Long live C&A & the Dolphin Centre!
