With so many players unavailable to the Manager to select from yesterdays result was superb .I'd have settled for a point before kick off given the match day squad, so to get all 3 was a bonus - especially with Saints dropping two points today .

There wasn't an awful lot of quality on show , but I can live with that given the circumstances .

Zigic may cause the back 4 more issues next week .

18 months ago my son played against Daniel Potts in a school match, while Faubert amazingly graced the Bernabéu.

3 lovely crosses from Potts yesterday, Faubert has just about managed that in 4 seasons !!

Oh yes Barnsley reminded me just like Brazil of the 70's, beautiful football. Thats why they are top of the league and not struggling to stay in mid-table. Keith who? Just a bitter nobody. As for playing pretty football watch the Pompey v Southampton game yesterday if you can stay awake long enough. We are in a **** league and have to get out of it anyway we can. Made me chuckle. Everything about it; classic WHUFC spin, classic WHUFC supporters reaction.

At the end of the day, it's a ****ing man of the match decision, who gives a **** (we shouldn't even be doing it - it's a new thing they've introduced over the last couple (?) of years), I bet the players don't even care, let alone the fans. Even if Potts was average (which he wasn't), what's the harm in giving it to him? The fact it's so pointless makes it even funnier. Classic classic West Ham. ****ing quality!

Do me a favour! Talk about over analysing! LOADS of people were booing, it was a stock reaction to a stupid decision. It was ****ing hilarious.

I do not understand the negativity on here.

After two bad results (did anybody notice the Burnley or Reading results at the weekend?), with suspension and injuries, in front of a full house against a team with two very good away wins recently - it had all the makings of a typical pre-christmas West Ham let-down.

We got an early goal and achieved a hard-earned win. We are the closest we have been to Southampton all season. We have had two defeats but closed the gap in the last few weeks.

People say this league is not very good, if it is one thing it is even. There are a lot of teams who are capable of putting together a string of results. Experienced managers keep saying how tough this league is, I think they are correct.

We are in a great position, we will have the odd bad result, but we keep coming back after defeats - a good sign.

I can understand why people did it, but I don't condone it.

Not fair on Nolan, even if from our eyes he didn't deserve it and our fans boo'd the decision more than Nolans performance.

Man of the match is a load of b*llocks anyway. The BBC will give it to someone, the match day sponsors will give it to someone different, each paper seems to give it to someone different and on top of that each fan has their own opinion on who it should of been.

I said it in another thread and i will say it again the people who did boo on Saturday are the same bunch who i reckon used to boo CC all the time and the same people who on a couple of times this season have booed at half time because its not going our way

I wouldnt go that far, but I didn't like it either. Nolan played well but wasn't MOM in my eyes, or other fans judging by many on this site. Potts should have got the nod without a shadow of a doubt but the booing was unfair on Nolan, even if it wasn't directed at him personally.

Whilst I'm not going to comment on whether they're real fans or not, there is a difference between not agreeing with the sponsor's man of the match choice and booing it like a ****.
