http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... we-HammersAlso heard on Sky Sports News yesterday, when they were talking about the Play Off Final Win, that Kevin Nolan wants to see out the rest of his career at Upton Park. Really do like the fact that he's giving his all for the Irons, and with players with the commitment of Noble, Tomkins and Carlton Cole also, I'm really proud to be a Hammer right about now.

I think we saw the real Kevin Nolan in the last few weeks of the season. You only have to read the forums of our opposition to see how much he really get's under their skins. We have always cried out for that snidey, annoying player that dominates midfield

When he joined us I thought he would be a good captain but didn't rate him much on the pitch, this season he has proved me wrong and on so many times, he started off a bit shakey but his goals, his passion and his determination is there for all to see, both during the 90 minutes of a game and before/after it.

On and off the pitch, Nolan tends to say and do the right thing... Most of the time. Great player, and a good backbone to have in your squad. I love the way he gives it all for the Hammers, and is soo passionate when he plays. Really impressed by his standard of football this season. I hope we can get a few more strong players with Kev's passion.

Funny that once his home life settled down, so did he.
Works hard, scores goals, great leader but please someone tell him to stop hitting through balls. Even Usain Bolt could not get on a Nolan through pass!

His last 20 minutes in the play off final were the best 20 minutes of his West Ham career. Stood up when it counted big time

I am proud to read the comments smacking of loyalty from him, Cole, Noble and others. I also looked at the photo of him lifting the cup and the pure joy on his face and Noble's is a great thing to see. Winning trophies, finishing top table, European football are all great but I'd rather be a solidly performing mid table team with players who want to be there and are proud to wear the shirt. But then again I'm not a glory hunter, if I were I'd be a plastic Mancy.

Well Nolan...The captain element I always thought he would be brillant as a leader and is#
As a player he looked unfit and lost for the first few months of the season but his recent form seems to have coincident with us hitting form and he looks a lot fitter as well. Also the fact he seems to be able to grab a goal at nothing sometimes is invaluable.

This. I've read of several forums that he's disliked hugely (which we all know) but he's settled and flourished into his creative role more as the seasons gone on with ease. Best thing to happen to the squad in so long and as mentioned below, you could tell how much it meant to him lifting the cup.

I don't want to say Kevin Nolan has replaced Scott Parker... but we have truly got a Midfield General. Leads the lads out well, passionate when he plays, helps the younger players flourish with his experience cool head, and also his scoring rate from Midfield is better than most players we've had in the centre of the park. He is our very own West Ham Scouse.

Just a shame his value was questioned so severly in the early days, coming back from injury, moving to a new part of the country, new team, it would of been nicer if we had given him a bit of slack instead of stick we could of enjoyed his joy more ourselves.
Well done Kev.

Started a bit sluggish this season but the last 2 months he's been very good, and you can't argue with his goal scoring ability - let's hope he can keep it up next year.

Shame he got so much stick at the start considering he had recently had an ankle op and had to re settle his family down south but I must admit he looked dreadful against Aldershot in the Cup.
Fact is he is a quality captain & a real good influence in the dressing room, hopefully Sam finds a few more like him.

Love him and the commitment he has shown. He has got his goals and been a superb leader on and off the pitch, a truly brilliant signing, and I'm so happy to see players playing for the shirt.

Thank **** he turned it around as up until the Millwall game he was little more than a passenger during the games. Yes I agree he really came on terrifically since then and is the best captain we have had for ages and his goals this season have helped but it was only when he wasn't in the team that it became massively apparent we were just as good if not better than when he was in the team. I'm glad his home life is settled now and I'm glad that he is our captain...I'm also glad he feels he owes the Hammers...he nearly cost us promotion!
