West Ham 0-2 Liverpool.
I somehow think we will come back down to earth with a massive bump after yesterdays terrific 2nd half performance. The Diving Twat being out though is a major benefit, but I somehow still see us getting turned over. Would love to see us get a win against those Liverpool knobs that still seem to believable they're world beaters however.

When was the last time we had a defensive dilemma for good reasons? I'm really not sure who i'd start at CB in this. Winston's been superb all season and is almost guaranteed to start but the other spot is up for grabs.
I thought Tomkins and Reid were forming a good partnership before JT got move into midfield but Ginge was brilliant against Chelski. I think i'd just go for Tomkins ahead of Collins because Liverpool play more on the floor and Collins could be caught flat footed.
Whoever BFS chooses to start i'm sure he'll make the right choice. More of the same please!

Come on, that's taking pessimism to a new level. We have just beaten the European champions.
I say 2 - 0 to us you rotter.
Re: West Ham United v Liverpool: Match Thread
They struggled to break down Southampton, the team with the worst defence the premiership has ever seen. They will also be without Suarez against us. The smart money therefore is on Liverpool finding it very hard to score next week. We (excluding today's result) generally find it tough to score, and Liverpool are solid defensively. Therefore a scoreline along the lines of 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 or 1-1 seems the most likely.
I think it will be just as expected. One of the above results. I hope it is one that favours us, obviously.
I make us favourites, but being a West Ham fan, as we all know, means that after a high like today, it is very likely that we will be brought down to earth with a bump...

Re: West Ham United v Liverpool: Match Thread
Someone said it earlier this year that we always win the impossible games and crash out of the winnable games.
No Suarez, but I'd expect Gerrard to be heavily involved. However, today showed that our fitness is second to none right now. With a full 7 days to rest, while Liverpool are going to Italy mid-week, I'm optimistic for at least a tie. Liverpool have to field a strong side in Udinese, unless they aren't concerned with crashing out of the Europa.
For us, this will be the game that proves whether we're a strong team who are going to finish in the top half or not.

I'm putting a fiver on us to win to nil in this. No Suarez, no goals.
Re: West Ham United v Liverpool: Match Thread
I actually fancy us for this. They don't have Torres or Kuyt any more, and Gerrard is past it. They're the buggers that have caused us problems in the past. They're now a mid-table team with a mid-table squad, barring a very decent striker. Seeing as he's suspended, I think we've got a decent chance. So long as Diame keeps Gerrard occupied and Noble can find a bit of space to pick out his passes, we should carry more threat than them.

Deplete, Punish, Destroy please West Ham
I hate hate hate these deluded soppy bindipping muppets.
Suarez may be gone but I hope Sam has our lads practicing defending from set pieces. Agger and Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtel are always a threat from them.
Nailed on that Gerrard scores a wonder goal as well..
Come on Sam make this week amazing, I won't be able to handle being around my mates if we lose this.

An opportune moment to show what our team - and our manager - have got.
Right now, an out-of-form Liverpool is a match-up we should relish.
If we get the tactics right from KO we should be very confident of coming away with something

1 -1
We have struggled against teams who keep the ball well (Swansea and Arsenal), so I think we might find it tough, but I still think we can get something.

We have plenty to do this lot and our strikers are finally all getting off the mark whilst their only striker is banned. 2-0 to us, Cole to score again and Jarvis.
We now have a week for the team to rest so I'm hoping Momo will play from the start as his influence really made a difference yesterday.
---------------Jussi
Demel--Reid--Collins--O'brien
---------Diame--Noble
---------------Nolan
Taylor--------Cole---------Jarvis
Go at them hard like the second half today and they won't know how to cope.

Fulham were awful, they hardly kept the ball.bobo wrote:

Apart from the Nolan "goal", Man City were all over us.
Chelsea kept the ball well in the 1st half and were by far the best side.
If we stop them playing we will beat them.

Re: West Ham United v Liverpool: Match Thread
1.If we get an early goal they'll fold the same way they did v WBA.
2.Lumping it up to Cole against Skrtel and Agger will be pretty stupid
3.Glen Johnson will be their best player by a mile.
4.Reina will make a blunder to concede a goal
5.Nolan has never gone 5 successive games without scoring for us - so he'll score next week.
