Mark Noble - West Ham Legend 500 up
With 27 goals in 239 appearances, Mark Noble is our longest serving player. I have never heard a bad word said about him* and he has a great record from the penalty spot.
Where does Mark Noble rank amongst the best ever West Ham players ? Is he good enough to play in a midfield alongside Bonzo, Devonshire and Brooking ?
*although plenty on here criticise his set pieces.

A good player no doubt, nowhere close to those who you mentioned however. Has been one of the highlights of this season though IMO.

One of us ain't he, if he wasn't on the pitch he'd be in the stands.

He's West Ham though and though, nice to have a West Ham boy in the team for so long.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend ?
lovely lad, great club servant and would always like to find a place for him in the team.
unfortunately, he is just a mid-level Premiership midfielder and nothing more IMHO. a tad one-dimensional. Can be great on his day, but can also be very very average. He just does not have the consistency to play at the top level, or for England.
Having said that, if he went to a bigger club and had access to better coaching and the chance to play with better players on a regular basis then he could well improve. Just like Jordan Henderson has improved in the last 18 months at Liverpool

Closest thing we've had to a legend in a long time, and will for some while. I hope he plays for us for the rest of his career, a quality player who will be remembered for loyalty and good service when he retires.

Agree with that generally, crouchend. For us, anyway.
He'd benefit hugely too, with quality players alongside him, players to shield him, let him play.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend ?
Average to good Prem player.....good with a penalty, but never likely to spank one in from 25 yards.
As Crouch says, he probably should have moved on for the good of his career.

One of our own, claret & blue through and through (so far!) and an absolute credit to himself and the club.
Legend? No where near I am afraid and never will be, it takes way more more than loyalty to get that staus.

Some of the best stuff he played was when he had Tevez in front of him. Seemed to really up his game.rare as rockinghorse shat wrote:Agree with that generally, crouchend. For us, anyway.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend ?
Players with far less than him have European and domestic medals in their back pockets, and plenty of international caps to boot.
Noble is a decent player, who has really had to grin and bear a very difficult period at he Club. He sat on the bench in the p,ay off final in 2005, and didnt even make the bench for the 2006 FA Cup final. He has had to contend with journeymen and poor players, along with bad management.
I sometimes think he deserves so much better than he has gotten.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend ?
Pretty limited ability wise. But credit where its due, he's been a great servant and never lets us down. Legend status?.......im not so sure. Cant see him mentioned in the same breath as Trevor or Bonzo, however a team of Noble's certainly wouldnt be in the bottom 3 of the PL.

The legend that is the cockney pirlo. We'd only realise how good he is if he was somewhere else. I hope he stays forever.
