West Ham Utd 1-1 West Bromwich Albion (01/01/15)

Post by saludo de carlitos »

I'm still 100% on these, come on you Irons Sakho and Adrian to start up front.

Or Valencia.

Valencia and Sakho up top.
Noble, Song, Amalfitano, Downing in midfield. Despite Kouyate playing better today.
Collins in for Tomkins. Jenkinson back in.

Go at them. Carroll to play 25 and batter a tired Lescott.

Reality: Carroll plays, Nolan returns for Amalfitano.

I'm not sure Valencia and Adrian would work so well :)

Am I right in thinking its Kayoute and Sakho's last game before flying off?

If so I'd go with...

-------------------------- Adrian ----------------------
Jenkinson ------ Tomkins ------ Collins ------ Cresswell
------------------------- Song ------------------------
--------------- Noble -----------Kayoute -----------
-----------------------Amalfitano ------------------
------------- Sakho------------ Valencia----------

Resting Reid, Carroll and Downing for Everton

No excuse for not fielding a full strength team against Everton being the game isn't until the Tuesday night in my opinion

I read that they are due to fly off on 2nd Jan but are seeking special dispenastion to join up late so they can play in the Cup game on 6th. In terms of squad rotation, I think it would be good if we could get the extra game out of them.

Against this lot I'd drop Downing and play Sakho, Valencia AND Carroll.

Amalfitano in front of Song and Kouyate.

Alex Song needs to make up for that Arsenal showing.

Song, Amalfi, Kouyate, Nolan (this is the sort of game he should be played in).

Sakho and Valencia up top.

Has Zarate gone or is he just listed? If the latter, Zarate for Nolan.

Sakho and Valencia please up top. Been a while and that combo deserves another run-out now. Otherwise keep the same team as today

I'd be very tempted to play Song at the tip:-
Adrian
Jenks Collins Reid Cresswell
Noble
Downing Kouyate
Song
Valencia Sakho

Will the Baggies Manager last until this match ?

I reckon they'll fire him tomorrow and have Pulis in the hot seat , which means they could be an entirely different proposition ..

Him, Cresswell and Reid are being run into the ground a bit. But no LB cover and Tomkins' fifth card means the latter two can't be rested, but Downing on the bench might not be a bad idea. Amalfitano or Zarate can do a decent enough job there

This is a must-win to get the show back on the road.

Back 5 picks itself with Tomkins banned and Jenkinson eligible.

Ahead of that, who knows?

Noble will probably start.

Can't imagine going a stupid goal down then seeing the confidence of the first half season drawn from us.

This will be my 1st match as a ST Holder so it would be great to start off by seeing us do the double over the baggies. 2-1, COYI. :crest:

we're pretty fortunate with this fixture to be honest. going to be a lot of frustration coming out of the arsenal game and there are few fixtures we could get our teeth in to like a dog tearing up a chunk of raw meat than the baggies at home in their current form. against a more potent side this could just as easily see us undone.

there aren't any easy fixtures with the prem being what it is, but we could ask for few better opportunities to convert a performance into a result.

valencia/sakho to start is a must. it's one of those cases where what we all want to see conveniently lines up with sam's dour pragmatism, given that carroll has already played 180 minutes this week. fair play to the guy for starting amalf today, though.
