Technical, very small. Huge prospect a few years ago. Likes to get in space behind the striker all across the pitch. Will provide good foil and cover for Payet.

Certainly the kind of player you buy if you're looking to play a passing game and unlock defenses with through balls and quick interplay.

Not a Sullivan signing, it's known that Bilic wanted him at Beskitas.

So is he an attacking midfielder, a winger, an 'in-the-hole' forward or a trequartista?

Wel :kumb: any way Manuel, hope it works out for us all.

Well, good luck to the lad and welcome to WHU!

I'm still waiting for the striker who's going to provide the finishing touches to his and Payet's abilities. The more of these assisty, touchy, tappy, on the ground, behind the strikery people we sign the more I'm convinced they must have strikers lined up. Otherwise it could all fall a bit flat.

Hopefully Valencia will flourish with creative players behind and/or around him.

Will need to beef up to be a success in the Prem, he's lightweight.

A very good player though with loads sf skill, if Bilic gets him right he will hopefully do well for us..

Lanzini played for my other half's team, Fluminense for a while, so I saw him in the flesh quite a few times while I was living in Brazil, and even met him wandering in Ipanema once!

I was never all that impressed to be honest. He seemed very lightweight, even in a lightweight league like the Brazilian one. He played, as far as I could tell, mostly 'in the hole'. So he was often the link between midfield and attack, picking it up, turning, maybe beating a man and laying it off.

He didn't quite manage to break into the Fluminense first team, they preferred a 34/35 year-old Deco at the time.

I am not too happy about the signing, its a strange one for me, but hopefully Bilic can get something out of him that was missing. Or maybe he has developed his game in the last couple of years. I will be following this with great interest though :)

Loan for a skillfull, creative player, can buy if it works out, pass if it doesn't, what's not to like! Slav obviously sees something in him having tried in the past to get him, good work Mr Sullivan!
