So exactly where were all the other bidders offering to pay more rent, their own maintenance and the conversion costs??cockney hammer wrote:Taxpayer to profit by just £200,000 next year after West Ham's Olympic Stadium move despite footing £257m bill to convert it

Thanks a lot Steve for your much appreciated work.
I had to laugh at that article from the Hate Mail. Perhaps they would have supported a bid from a college that nobody has heard about formed by a partnership of a former sixth form college and the mighty Burnley FC. West Ham saved the taxpayer the embarrassment of Millennium Dome mk 2 but that it a little complicated for the mouth frothers of the DM.

Cheers CH.
So the Taxpayer are making a £200k profit this year? I presume those profits will go up year on year, making the West Ham move a shrewd one, avoiding an otherwise White Elephant scenario.

Thanks Steve, much appreciated on a Sunday morning.
So, the taxpayers had to fork out loads for the OS conversion, eh.
Well, I am a taxpayer and I gladly contributed my share.
