Collins in Welsh squad
James Collins is in the Wales squad for their pre Euros training camp.
Will his recent injury and nlack of match practice preclude him from the final cut?

Re: Collins in Welsh squad
Ginge obviously deserves a chance to make the full squad.
Clearly good enough to play for them.

Re: Collins in Welsh squad
I see the England v Wales game is a 2pm kick off on a Thursday.
Hard to think of a worse kick off time for this game.
Book your time off now.

Very pleased for him! Felt he might have missed out given the lack of game time for us recently. But fully deserved as he has been superb for us when he's played this season.

Re: Collins in Welsh squad
From my inside knowledge at the FAW earlier in the campaign Ashley Williams and James Chester were the preferred choice at CB but Ginge started to really come into his own and force his way in to starting line up.
If Williams wasn't the captain he might have kicked him out as he has been very poor.
Ginge was always going to be in the 23

Not sure why Chester why play ahead of Collins. He hasn't played much for WBA this season and hasn't been that good when he has got a game. Collins on the other hand has been immense and should start alongside Williams.

Re: Collins in Welsh squad
He's got pick Collins over Chester. I'd have a back 5 with Collins, Williams and Davies in the centre and Taylor left wing back and Gunter or Richards at right wing back. Ramsey, Allen and, if fit, Ledley in the middle and Bale and Robson-Kanu up top, the latters movement would help make space for Bale and he is also able to pull out side and go at full backs. On paper Wales are no World beaters but this is international football.
If we don't lose to England we'll get through the group.

Re: Collins in Welsh squad
A Williams/Collins CB paring in arguably on par defensively with anything England has.
If our man shows the wonderful club form that was evident during our mid-season injury crisis, then Wales are in as good a place as the can be.
Good luck Ginge
