It is a sad indictment of the state of English football created by TV money and the Bosman ruling but if they're not good enough then that's the way it is unfortunately.

Great shame. You have to be an ubelievably gifted English kid to get anywhere close to a regular place unless you get it via promotion. Same goes for managers. Dyche and Howe only got in the prem via promotion.

Manuel da Costa, at the time he played for West Ham he represented Portugal (U23 and call ups for Portugal) before changing to Marocco in 2014 (could also represent France in theory)

There's nothing to stop English kids or managers moving abroad to get first team experience. It's something many should consider.

Is he? I thought Ilic was Montenegrin (although he was only playing at the time when the country was united with Serbia). He certainly now owns some kind of retreat in Montengro.
