West Ham Utd 1-1 Middlesbrough (01/10/16)

Post by mumbles87 »

Right this is a must win. No excuses

a few players need rockets

team should be as follows..

--------------------Randolph

Byram-------Ogbonna----Reid--Arbolola (sp)

Feguilili (sp)----Lanzini--Obiang---Antonio

------------------------Payet

----------------------Fletcher

gives rockets to adrain (at fault for the first .. could have saved that..) and Nordviet who was awful again..

Kouyate was at fault for the second

Noble hasnt played well all season

Lose this one and Slav is out. Can't lose five in a row and expect to survive.

Part of me hopes we lose just so Bilic gets the tin tack.

--------------- Adrian -------------
Byram Reid ogbonna arbeloa
----------- obiang noble ---------
-----------------Lanzini------------
Feghouli----------------------Payet
----------------Antonio-------------

Antonio can't be trusted anywhere else. Will work his nuts off and has pace and strength.

Kouyate doesn't deserve to play. Obiang to sit and break up play.
Noble stays in just because I don't think changing lots of players all at once is healthy.

Like noble said. At least it can't get much worse

More than anything we need someone to camp in front of the back 4, patrol them and not move forward beyond a specific imaginary line. I'm not convinced Obiang is the answer either but I would use either him or Oxford a la Arsenal for this.

Next I would put 2 ball hoggers who can keep possession as well as thread passes forward. Lanzini is one of them and I've seen enough now of Fernandes to think he is very similar and it also helps that he's a contrasting unit to Manu.

Payet and Antonio need to make up two thirds of the front three but I'm absolutely desperate to see Carroll back as the man to make things stick to bring the rest in to the fold. Until then I have to say Fletcher is the most similar who we have available (otherwise it would be Sakho).

Cresswell is also a major loss in linking play and until he's back I don't think I'd be inclined to push the full backs up too much. Byram and Arbeloa but more towards discipline than overlap.

Lee, I agree with that but think Randy has to start in goal.

Tough crowd.

Would have been closer to double figures than 0 were it not for Adrian.

I don't think it is OTT to say this is one of our most important games for a couple of seasons. We absolutely definitEly need a win. However it comes.

If we lose this one I really can't see us surviving. You can't expect to lose to the likes of Watford, WBA, Southampton and Middlesbrough on the bounce and expect the season to be anything other than a disaster.

Who cares about the saves once the game was gone. He should have done better when it mattered. He's too rash at times for sure

Yeah dropping the best player, today, in a West Ham shirt would send out the right message, come on, don't be silly.

Anything less than a win and I think our season is hanging by the skin of its teeth.

Best player? Come on. A top keeper has the 1st and he gets done way too easily for the 2nd. The good saves he made between and after those goals get forgotten for me. The tough job of being a keeper..
