I reckon we'll see the Stratford Samurai make an appearance for us at some point in December

Their main threat will be set pieces , all week we should be working on defending corners, throws in our half against us and crosses from deep into our box .

Respect the point , recognise the reality where we are .
Absolutely spot on. We won't though will we?

---------------Adrian
Arbeloa-Collins-Reid-Cresswell
---------------Obiang----------------
-Antonio-Lanzini-Noble-Payet
---------------Fletcher---------------

If Cresswell isn't ready then Ogbonna I guess

Zaza & Calleri had had a chance, time for Fletcher to have a couple of games.

Townsend & Zaha will rip our back line apart, Arboloa positioned himself well at the weekend but massively lacks pave. Going to be 3 or 4-0 Palace I'm afraid.

That is my big fear, I think we need to be physical early on, Arbeloa knows how to do it, if Oggy is left back he needs to stop grabbing and use his strength, he's a big girl at times considering his size

It could all change after the international break of course, but this would be my line up as of today

- Adrian - I don't agree with the 'flapping' comments thought he commanded his area quite well tbh
- Arbeloa - Only option
- Collins - the weakest of our experienced CB's IMO but this is not a time to play the kids
- Reid - Much improved last time out
- Oggy - Looked assured down the left
- Noble - Not in the best form but he is the captain and a leader. Also handy for pens
- Obiang - Fully deserves to keep his place
- Feghouli - Cant be much worse than Tore. More direct
- Lanzini - Only man on the field who is on the same wavelength as Payet
- Payet
- Antonio - Did enough for me in the first half to try it again. Also gets him as far away from that right back position as possible. Just not capable of tracking his man

Zaza to replace Feghouli if we are struggling, but this is his final chance before Fletcher gets the nod ahead of him

Stevieob sorry got to pick you upon Noble you say he's not in the best of form but gets in the team because he's captain and a leader.

Sorry haven't seen much leadership so far this season, and you also say he's handy for penalties, can no one else take a penalty, F**k me even Adrian can score a penalty.

He is the weak link he slows play down turns like a warship and plays so many sideways and backward passes I'm sure he's been reading Ray Wilkins book.

Now for others saying when AC is back we need to ping crosses in , why? how many direct crosses to AC's loaf did we score from last season, how many crosses have we scored from this season. It's a myth, we can't do crosses so we don't.

Palace will be really up for this we need to be tight and compact and use pace to hit them on the counter, if we are loose in midfield they will pick us apart hence I say Obiang and Kouyate. even Obiang and Thor'.
Give the captaincy to Reid and try to play not too deep.

Missed the bit where he hit the post. Perhaps Dan Gosling would've done better.

Exile I hear what you are saying and I agree in parts

However, we are in the ****. We need professionals, people who have been in this situation before. Absolutely no point throwing in a kid imho.

IF (a big if) you go 1 nil up, slowing the game down is going to be exactly what we want. Winning those little fouls near the touchline is going to be exactly what we need. For those reasons, he makes it into the 11

Stevieob you forgot the missed tackles and cheap freekicks, the endless chasing the ball, but what the heck play him I'd hardly call Kouyate a kid same as Obiang, then again we do throw kids in Cottee , Defoe, Ferdinand ( Rio) Lumpalard, Joe Cole.
how old is Lanzini If we need to slow the game down then bring him off the bench, but to start him telegraphs exactly how we are going to play,

Because we are broke and all our transfers have more smokescreens and clauses than a unwanted email from a Nigerian Prince.

The only change I would contemplate from the team that played most of the first 45 v Boro would be someone for Tore.

Keep it stable. The team went 90 minutes without conceding from open play, and created enough decent positions and shooting opportunities.

Pink's right about Palace. All about the aerial ball.

I'd take a draw from this game if offered right now.

Another point on the board and another bit of confidence recovered.

Massively concerned that we're entering October and not one of our strikers has scored a goal all season... ridiculous, especially when you consider they were given a full run out against Accrington Stanley from League 2 a few games back.
