Got the 15:55pm train from Liverpool Street and have never been filmed so many times from people standing around and for what? A little video to keep on your phone of how you saw a load of West Ham fans being police escorted to the ground? Saw many people giving ****er signs with one hand and filming with the other for a nice video of "West Ham kicking off". So many times police lines were totally thin but if any Tottenham fans wanted to really get to the police escort they could have done so but chose not to. At one point a couple of police officers were hit with coins that had been thrown from the other side of the road to the escort but no action was taken at all to try and identify and arrest anyone. Other way round and it would be "CARNAGE".

Totally agree with Romford from the last few pages.

Bit of perspective.

We have only won 3 games. However Bournemouth, in 9th, have won 4.

Just about got over that.

For the majority of the game I really did think we looked good. Lanzini had his best game for a while - him and Payet looked great on the counter. Thought Obiang was good in the middle of the park, Kouyate excellent and Reid a colossus at the back

Zaza showed some nice touches when he came on but in front of goal he cost us two really good chances to score a third and kill the game. The thing that pissed me off the most about him was that he just wasn't working when he didn't have the ball. He should be fresh and chasing everything, putting their back four under pressure but he was walking around half the time. Was infuriating to see.

Been the story of the season though - Chelsea, Watford, Stoke - we're giving away stupid goals and conceding late. Down to the manager? In part, I guess but he can't legislate for individual mistakes.

Oh and completely agree with most about their muggy fans. Was close to their lot giving it all game and hiding behind the old bill when we gave it back. Romford - saw you remonstrating with the idiot in the red cap at half time - don't know why you waste your breath mate.

Exactly. We need a couple of players but us being down the bottom really feels different from the other times. It feels more like when Spurs were down there before Harry went in. We're not going to get into the top 7 but I really think we can climb this table quickly and there was lots to be positive about from the weekend. There's a few weak links and we have to cut out individual errors but I'm positive it will come.

I was also on that train and escort. Plenty of hyped-up Spurs fans and equally hyped-up police throughout the slow walk to the ground.

Fell in through the door around 2am yesterday. I don’t normally take losing personally anymore but I had a proper sore one on Saturday and for most of yesterday. Hangover was pretty intense and I wasn’t good company.

Walked straight through the bother outside before kick-off, had to laugh at the sight of the hopelessly outnumbered and ill-prepared police legging it up the road to stop the hostilities. There were a few spurs fans getting nicked for their reaction – made me chuckle

Coming out there was an awful lot of provocation, had it on the train coming back as well. Distinct lack of humility, there were 3 of us and more than a dozen of the infidels, they made more noise on the carriage than what they did in the ground.

It normally goes over my head but the sight of this gobby bearded yob standing in the doorway of one spurs clubs along seven sisters, shouting abuse at west ham was stomach churning. The animation on his face, protected my all his mates and in the safety of the club was galling. The antagonistic behaviour could only result in fans squaring up.

Haven’t read the thread, thought we did alright. Stand outs for me were Lanzini, Antonio and Reid. None of them deserved to on the losing side.

The subs were made at the right time with the right players coming off, would have put Fletcher on instead of that useless ****, can understand the Norwegian dud coming. Was the right thing to do, absolutely criminal what he did though.

Zaza’s lack of application or effort to close down when he’s literally a matter of feet away from an opposing player in possession is quite frankly disgusting. I wouldn’t have that **** in a west ham shirt again. Would rather play with 10 than have a prim donna like that in our ranks.

Even by our own standards the last minute collapse was pathetic, can’t blame Reid for the red cars as I could feel his frustration.

All too predictable unfortunately, gotta grow a pair and stand up/dig in. Randolph made one good save in the 2nd half, they rallied for 15 minutes after the break … apart form that I felt we controlled the game pretty well. Can’t keep on making this errors though, very costly and beyond stupid.

I feel its the hard times that make you what you are.

We just outplayed a supposd top 4 team yesterday...and with a decent fit striker and without a stupid Norwegian we'd have bought home the points easily.

The ref was truly atrocious too....nothing new there.

The only thing I'm concerned about is some of Slavs substitutions yesterday.

Fortunes always hiding as bloody usual :x
Funny how opinions differ. I didn’t feel that we outplayed them yesterday. I thought for the first 15 minutes we got in their faces and pressed them well, but after that we just sat back and offered pretty much nothing going forward. Admittedly we defended well, but we offered no threat going forward. Our first goal came from a set piece and I thought it was against the run of play at the time. Our second goal was also against the run of play with a penalty from a set piece, I don’t recall us having any chances between the two goals and we only had the Zaza one afterwards when Spurs were leaving big gaps at the back when chasing the game (when Zaza completely wasted the opportunity by not passing to Payet much earlier).

Did their keeper even make a save of note in the whole game? He picked the ball out of the net twice and caught one feeble shot straight at him from Zaza.

I don’t think we can have any complaints with the ref either. He didn’t give what looked like a blatant penalty for them in the first half when one of theirs – I think Janssen – was hauled down in the box going for a cross. He then gave us a penalty for an identical situation in reverse. He also waved away one for Kane in the second half that I have seen given and he had no choice but to award a penalty at the end when Nordtveit needlessly dived in to bring down Son, that was a penalty all day long. I thought the sending off of Reid was harsh, or perhaps a better description is needless with there being only about 1 minute of the game left, but then again Antonio could easily have been given a second yellow soon after getting booked.

IMO the ref didn’t have an impact on the result at all on Saturday. I think that overall his decisions probably helped us more than they hindered us. I think the blame for not holding on to what we had lies completely with Bilic for replacing Payet with a defensive player when there was lots of space for us to exploit. With Payet on and Spurs pushing for an equaliser we still had a creative player capable of punishing them over committing. With Payet off Spurs had nothing to worry about defensively. It meant that Walker could play as a winger instead of a fullback and we had nobody capable of keeping the ball for us and getting us into their half. I realise that Payet was neglecting his duty in tracking Walker’s runs, but in effect the gamble here was to decide which of Walker or Payet was more likely to hurt the opposition when attacking with the game stretched.

I was pleased to see us defend well (for the most part) in the game, but I worry that we are looking seriously blunt in attack. We seem to be solely reliant on Payet to make something happen and I can see some of the lower level teams sticking one on him early and/or man marking him to leave us toothless.

Ok it wasn't the best result but we went to a "decent" premier league teams ground and played well up until the last 15 mins.

Personally i thought we gave it a good try.

Losing to Spurs hurts but i'm more annoyed about the Middlesborough game etc.

Hope the cops enhance it at 45secs - I reckon the big Spud in black with gloves on is carrying.
What a bunch of morons.... Hopefully all of them can be identified and banned, especially the bloke in the hat who decides to wade in and start a punch up.

It is morons like these 30 odd people that give the game a bad name. Some people need to take a long, hard look at themselves.

Full credit to the two policemen in this situation as well. They did a bloody good job in stopping it from getting even more nasty and they were both pretty brave here being so heavily outnumbered by the morons.

Watched the game again on Bein ... I think a lot of us had the old claret and blue goggles on ... aside from the two set piece goals their keeper didn't have a save to make ... they had 67 v 33 on the possession stats ... I know that means very little but it does reflect that we didn't 'control' the game ...

We defended well but also remember the Spuddies hadn't scored more than one since October 2nd and hadn't managed three in an EPL game all season ...

I thought we had the usual miss-match of players some giving it 100% Reid - Lanzini - Creswell - Antonio and then others giving it 60% Sakho - Ayew - Zaza, by that I mean as soon as we lost possession, or the ball moved away from them, they just switched off .... even Payet was only at 85% ....

Compare that to Spuds and every player ran at 100% ... thought Eriksen was absolute ***** but he never stopped working ... Janssen is a feckin' donkey but he never stopped covering back ...

If we had eleven players putting in 100% effort we might well have won ... but it was the ones doing all the grunt work who just got tired at the end ... if I'd been Reid I would have wanted to deck a couple of my team-mates, but I guess that's not allowed ....

Totally gutting result.
I think it could have been a real season changer, almost like our result at Anfield last year especially with the next three games we've got.

Would have also helped cushion the blow if we lost to either Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool (and we're probably likely to lose to at least one of them) and then going in to a couple of what must be seen as winnable fixtures at home afterwards.

Despite this, I still think Man Utd are there for the taking on Sunday but I can't see how nerves aren't going to play a part now and just hope that our players and staff have got the belief to fight as it's going to be a very tricky three weeks now.

A loss in Manchester will make the Arsenal game a total nerve fest and I simply don't want to think about Liverpool right now. Something tells me that my lad and I won't be as happy travelling home as we were last season as it stands right now.

I'm predicting 3 points this Sunday if we go right at Man Utd from the start though because they're in an uncomfortable world themselves at the minute, confidence then partially regained, we get a draw against Arsenal but nothing against Liverpool apart from damage limitation. They could ****ing destroy us on December 11. Then 3 points from Burnley and Hull.

So 10 points from a possible 18 from the 6 games before Christmas.
Or am I being too optimistic??

I agree with pretty much all of this. I wonder whether the 60% thing is more the fact that the players do not know what they are supposed to be doing when out of possession as opposed to simply being lazy?
