EFLCQF: Manchester Utd 4-1 West Ham Ut d (30/11/16)

Post by Phil S »

Looking forward to this one, 2 of their players missing the game.

I don't suppose Sakho is going to be fit so change the formation please Slav with Fletch and Ayew up top

Hopefully Carroll on the bench for a 20 minute cameo

0-2

Adrian
Arbeloa-Kouyate-Ogbonna
Antonio-Lanzini-Obiang-Cresswell
Ayew-Payet
Fletcher

Subs - Randolph, Collins, Nordtveit, Noble, Feghouli, Carroll, Zaza

Reckon we'll win, Slav tends to learn what went wrong when he doesn't beat he time and adjusts next time round.

Absolutely no idea what team Bilic will play for this, but am guessing Fernandes will be given another start.

Also no idea who Man Utd will play, but their squad is stronger than ours and that could be the difference. Glad there's no Pogba though, as he looks like he's coming into some form.

So with Randolph now keeping his place on form, does Adrian become our cup keeper?

I would like to see Feghouli be given a chance in this one. Been waiting to see what the man is capable
of. And I guess he wants to show how good he really is in England!

Very hard to guess the team and the shape but I would imagine we'll see the following people start:

Adrian, Reid, Fernandes, Feghouli, Ayew and Fletcher (or Zaza depending on contract situation).

Really fancy heading up to this despite having work on Thursday morning. Seems as though the last train (to Birmingham) is at around 10 so that's a no-go. National Express it is!

What are the chances of us being held behind at the end? Would hate to book travel home and miss it.

I'm feeling a scrappy 1-0 win. COYI :crest:

All the post match attention was about Man U's bad league form and dropping points so hopefully they will be looking to bow out of the EFL. Will Mourinho be banned from the touchline for this match as well does anyone know?

Can't wait for this.

Wednesday and Thursday off work. Prepared to celebrate.

Pogba, Fellaini banned. Their midfield is going to look lightweight.

The Fellani booking could prove to be huge. It now gives us the option to play Awey in place of Noble with Lanzini dropping back. That's how we should go imo. They are there for the taking

Really hope he gives Fletcher a good go on Wednesday... I'd quite like to see what he could do against them

Their midfield is certainly going to be weaker than it usually would be. Looking like Herrera, Schweinsteiger, Blind as the options.

A fresher Reid and Ayew to add to the team...

I'm actually starting to feel confident about this one.

30th November 2010, League Cup QF. West Ham 4-0 Man Utd.

30th November 2016, League Cup QF. We can do these bastards again.

With pogba and elbows missing I would give Antonio a free role, let him just run around causing mayhem, he's bigger, faster and stronger than anything they have in midfield, Ayew or feguili on the right, payet left, noble and Obiang behind Lanzini

Confident for this. Depends who they are likely to play up top but I would give Oxford a run in the 3 cbs. Fernadez will get a good run out with feghouli and Nordveit also. Be interesting to see what he does line up wise.
