Middlesbrough 1-3 West Ham United (21/01/17)
It is nice when you are really looking forward it next week's match on a Saturday.
It seems likely we will start with the side that started the second half today:
Randy
Byram Ginge Reid Creswell
Obiang Noble
Feg Lanzini Antonio
Big Andy.
Let's not get carried away, but it does look a lot more solid on paper.

The line up looked as honest as a days long today, and that will do me just now.

Fill your boots, lads - they're there for the taking, so let's do something about our GD and give the fans a big lift.

Re: West Ham v Middlesborough Match Thread
Much like the Leicester game, which I thought we were unlucky not to get something from, the shackles should be off for this one. We need to stop starting so negative though, it's killing us in first halves this season.

Randolph
Byram-Collins-Reid-Cresswell
Feghouli-Obiang-Noble-Lanzini
Carroll-Antonio
Adrian, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Fernandes, Tore, Fletcher, Calleri
Start how we finished tonight.

Got a funny feeling we might have 1 or 2 new faces this week.
Whoever they are, no more 5 at the back please.

Same team that started the second half today. Get Antonio and Feg close to Carroll as often as possible

Well seeing as it is the penultimate week of the window and we could barely muster 14 available players with first team experience today, I should bloody think so, too.smuts wrote:Got a funny feeling we might have 1 or 2 new faces this week.

I hope we don't splash cash on a bunch of short-term buys. Let's be honest. Our season is effectively over. If we work reasonably hard we're not going down. And we're not going to trouble the European places. I'd like to see us feed in some of the younger players and give Ayew and Sakho a chance. Plus our returning ANC players. I'd rather we kept the money and bought 3-4 really good players in the summer for next season. Spurs style.smuts wrote:Got a funny feeling we might have 1 or 2 new faces this week.

5 points off 7th which will likely be a European place.
While short term signings may not be a great idea a solid right back and a striker could get West Ham in there.

We can get away with most positions until the summer but we 100% need a striker and RB this window still, and not shitty stopgap ones!

I would really like to see Slav start the game with the exact team and formation that played the second half.
Re: West Ham v Middlesborough Match Thread
Lowest scorers in the premiership at 0.8 goals a game, but they defend very well..
Only three teams in the Premiership have conceded less than them this season.
This defensive record will save them from relegation this season.
They will get nil, can we get one or will it be a goalless draw?
Either way that would be a good result for us.

Re: West Ham v Middlesborough Match Thread
need towin this one and get a point of the arabs.
7th place is doable in this league. Do we want it enough.
Imagine a europa game against marseille and snake !
season is far from over for us. Also each place worth 3 million so 7th as opposed to 14th is an extr 20+ million
not t be sneezed at.
need to get a few players in RB CB and CF
Martinez on bench ahead of callerei for me.
same team as above. A good english core to it

After the second half against Palace - and assuming no fresh injuries - Slav would be brave to start anything other than the team who came out at half time and scored three goals
