Annoyingly, they are beatable.
Fonte in for Ogbonna. Otherwise same as Boro.

Bryram-Collins-Fonte-Reid-Cresswell

361 or (541) for me and a 1-1 score. It's gonna be a tough game and a draw would be an excellent result to keep our run going. We need to sustain their onslaught of attacks and try and hit them on set pieces or on the counter attack.

Don't be scared and get tight and physical, you can't let players like Silva and Aguero have time and space to move around and pick out teammates at will. I 100% believe we can win this, we have players that can hurt them.

Can see Man City picking us apart if we set up the same way as we was yesterday from the off. I do like Antonio central close to Carroll but it's frustrating when he gets the ball at his feet

I would not stray too far from the team that started yesterday. We have a decent set up at the moment which is scoring goals, and looking decently creative. The backline will be strengthened with Fonte, even if it is going to be weakened a little by not having the outlet of Ogbonna till the new season.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
Gutted Spurs got their draw yesterday so they'll be more pumped for this as they've now got a battle for top 4.
However, we have turned a corner. All our dirty washing has been aired since we capitulated against them in the cup. Bit of luck we will have a couple new signings to add to Fonte and the snake will be gone to give everyone an additional lift.
We need to win the midfield. We need to own that area and look to stop them dominating possession.
I can sense a good night. We will have had 10 days rest and the support will be lively.
3-2 WHU in one of the best games of the season.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
Can't shake the idea that the officials will do all in their power to make amends to City for Marriner's cock-up yesterday. They will see it as an easy opportunity to do it against mid-table, little old West Ham.
Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
The only way we can get a result here is if we are direct. Long ball wouldn't be a bad tactic. Anything on the ground and they have the capacity to murder us especially with Sane and Stirling bombing down the sides. Realistically they should have scored 6 or 7 against Spurs yesterday so hoping we can stay as tight as possible. Kouyate will be a huge miss. Wouldn't mind seeing Oxford in midfield with Obiang if Noble is out as we'll need legs.

You have to attack them, they concede a crazy amount of goals from the shots that hit the target. Have Lanzini, Antonio and Carroll trying their luck as well as crosses coming in for Carroll and Antonio to attack.
Feghouli and Antonio have the pace to get back and help the fullbacks as well.
Randolph
Byram Reid Fonte Cresswell
Noble Obiang
Feghouli Lanzini Antonio
Carroll
Adrian, Collins, Fernandes, Quina, Oxford, Fletcher, Calleri

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
Being honest in no way should Noble start against this mob. They move rapidly through midfield, and Noble won't have the time to dally about, we need to move the quickly and positively.
Bring Noble on when or if we need to close the game out.
We can get at them with Carroll targeting Bravo, every cross, corner and freekick aim at Bravo and tell Carroll to get into him. it also will keep their CBs honest.

Driving down from Manchester for this. First trip to the OS, where should I park to get the tube?

Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
This is a team that has shipped 28 goals this season, three more than 16th placed Middlesbrough and for that reason , every team loves playing City, because they know they have a chance They are often scintillating going forward, but at the same time, can often a mess at the back. Take yesterday for example, Spurs had just two shots on target, but scored from them both and even Everton, who stuck four past them, scored from every one of theirs. That should give us some hope, provided we can lock things up at the back
Re: West Ham Utd vs Man City: match thread
I know we lost badly, but the penalty was the kick start they needed and without it and with us now a "team" I think we have a chance.
