Summer Transfer Window 2017
Got to be looking at a right back and a striker haven't we?
(too soon?)
To be fair, we have to start talking about it sooner or later... onward and upward!

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
What's the point. There'll be no big investment.
Defoe on a free.
Hart on loan somehow.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
I think the main priority now is three outgoing transfers - Sullivan, Gold and Brady. Complete con merchants.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
We spent all the Summer 2017 budget during the January2017 window.
I think that's how it goes isn't it?

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
I think we need to cash in on our best players in the summer window so that we can replace them with inferior ones and add some cheap no-mark sticking plaster loans. Don't worry there's always the Jan 2018 window as well

Pete - I double dare you to start a January 2018 transfer thread, a summer 2018 transfer thread, a January 2019 transfer thread before the mods rumble us and kick our sorry arses. Go on mate - you know it makes sense. The Old Man of Storr wrote:I'll get mine in before one of the Mods finds his keys .

Modeste will no doubt be near the top of our list, should be looking at Sandro Ramirez too.
Sigurdsson will no doubt be on a few wish lists, even more so if they don't stay up.
Vrsaljko should be on Bilic's radar and list. Seems almost too obvious.
Hart would be a good addition if he was available too.
Not sure what our recruitment team get up to but that is a shortlist that would cost in the region of 60m and add some serious quality to the squad.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
We will end up with the same **** as every window from this **** board.
May as well lock this now.
Fair play though Sutts, you have a sense of humour.

Joe Hart (City), Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester), Jordan Pickford (Sunderland), Adam Smith (Bournemouth), Darmian (ManU), Moses Odubajo (Hull), Tom Carroll (Swansea), Oxlaine-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Jack Wilshire (Arsenal), Ante Ćorić (Zagreb), Anthony Modeste (Koln)
Any from the above.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
A keeper, a RB (depending on how Byram goes it may be a £6-9m back up Arthur style otherwise we may have to spend around £15m+ on an upgrade), replace Collins from within, at least one striker and that will be the problem. An average striker in his prime at a decent club (Benteke) is £35m.
If we were to have a summer budget of £60m that is that pretty much gone and we have far from completed the squad, we would still be relying on Sakho and Valencia for example. That is what the board have to realise if they want to shop a level below what the top 6 are doing.
It is why finding the young "gems" and paying £10m or so for them is a sensible if not so "glamorous name" way of building the club.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
Not sure if anyone has talked about this at all in the last few windows but we could use a striker and maybe a right back. But I do stress, I don't think anyone has spoken about this at all. This is a new, original thought.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
Carrick
Defoe
Glenn Johnson
in all seriousness
Iv wanted us to sign Oxlade-Chamberlin since last summers window i think hed be great for us, Sigurdson would be perfect as has been mentioned, striker wise Jay Rodrigez might be getable and would be decent enough and a decent right back

Hart -15m
Martin Kelly -free
Oxlade-Chamberlain 15 to 20m
Wilshire -15 to 20m or Will Hughes 10 to 15m
Charlie Taylor - free
Defoe - Free or Batshuayi 33m
I expect we will probably sell Adrian and Valencia, and a few from Ayew, Fehouli, Collins, Ogbonna, Nordtveit, Arthur and let the likes of Tore and Calleri go.

I think Adrian will be out of contract. We will not receive a fee.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
We were promised that we will push on to the next level, City and Chelsea were promised the same by their owners, who then spent pretty much a billion pounds each out of their own pockets, now they are reaping the rewards with regular champions league football,
Our owners have spent nothing out of their own pockets, they bought the club with loans from the club.
So if we want to push on to the next level we need to spend at least a billion just to catch up.
In this league £50mill a window will just about keep you treading water, plus now with the Chinese money flooding the market it will be higher next window,
£100m next window should be just enough to get us up a place or two in the league, not even up to Liverpool and spurs, we have no chance of catching up to arse , man u, city or Chelsea without 2-3 marquee players and serious investment in the rest of the squad,
So a minimum of 100m out of their own pockets added to our transfer budget from ticket sales, sky money etc just to give us a chance of 7th place, pretty sad really
