Think it's clear the team needs a 'refresh' and without wanting to blame Randy for our current 'slump' sometimes a change is good for all concerned, assuming that is, there aren't 'other issues' with Adrian.

Agreed. He's clearly a proper top bloke, but he's championship standard as a goalkeeper.

Randolph proved a few of us wrong by being a solid & dependable understudy, but somehow has gone on to be a weekly first pick. In my lifetime no goalkeeper has made me feel more nervous with high balls or set pieces, & I had a ST sat behind Allan McKnightmare & remember David James when he had his funny turn...

I don't get how little discussion there is or logical connecting of how many goals we've conceded this season to Randolph becoming our first choice. Especially compared to our positive goal difference last year under Adrian..

Adrian might be unpredictable but he should have been back in months ago

We wouldn't have lost if we had Adrian in goal.

Every goal we concede I find myself thinking 'Randolph' should have done better there.

For their first goal he was pathetic.

Randolph has surpassed my expectations to be fair to him but I still don't understand why people rate him, I think he's a poor goalkeeper at this level and Adrian is far better. Bring him back.

Absolute farce he was dropped in the first place. Made 1 or 2 mistakes.

Randolph is so slow at distributing it has a huge impact on our tempo from the get go. Frustrating that he managed to speed up at the end yesterday. Needs that intensity from the start.

Have consistently said what an utterly moronic decision it was to drop him. Be surprised to see it reversed now.

This site like with Noble called for Adrian's head, now it is time for Randolph to be dropped, he flaps around like a penguin at times.

Back when Arsenal put 5 past him Randolph has been atrocious.

Did Adrian break the strings on Slaven's guitar or what.

Adrian had a couple of indifferent matches and got dropped
Randy has been poor for weeks but keeps his place

Makes me wonder whether Slav's really picking players on ability/form or favouritism

(see Arbeloa, Byram, Noble, Snodgrass, Collins, Masuaku, Cresswell, etc)

It has struck me that it is over 10 years since we last paid proper money for a keeper. Jussi, Randolph, Adrian have all been free transfers, while the others have been developed through the youth system. By my recollection, Rob Green and David James are the only two keepers that we have actually paid a transfer fee for in the past 20 years.

I'm open to correction, but I cannot think of anybody else.

Randolph maxed the mistakes that Adrian did on a weekly basis and still hasn't got the hook.

Thought it was obvious he isn't playing because of contract issues

Randolph is not the reason why we are in a rut at the moment. Adrian and Randolph are both average stansard keepers and there aint much between them but I would have Adrian back for Hull and put Randolph on the bench. However, this summer we need to get a better keeper thn both of them.

Lot of people say there isn't much between them, this stemimg from some early cup performances from Randolph in my opinion.

Now he has had a run of games I can't see it, Adrian is far better and can only think it's a contract issue why he isn't playing.

Although surely if he played then he might sign one...

Randolph is costing us, every ball that comes into the box I think the opposition are going to score. Even when he doesn't actually make a blunder most goals I just think "he should have done better" appears beaten too easily.

Up until his early season mistakes I'd always thought Adrian would be around for a while and was reliable... a couple of mistakes don't change that.

He's off at the end of the year, no point of recalling him now. Another case of the longer a player isnt in the team, the better that player becomes.

We need a starting calibre keeper in the summer regardless.

But until his couple of mistakes earlier on in the season he was a starting keeper

Only after those mistakes did we suddenly need a new one

If we are a midtable team with ambitions of staying in the league then Adrian is more than good enough for us.

Why is he off? As we dropped him? He seemed pivotal to our good team morale from social media last season... as Tomkins was with Noble and Collins etc...

Personally think it's a shame some of that has gone this season and probably hasn't helped us on the pitch

Adrian, Tomkins and Collins are good examples of players that appeared to care, looked like they helped team morale and would fight for the team...

Anyone who says Joe Hart would be an upgrade needs to see the two howlers he made yesterday vs Inter.
