Do people believe that there is a physical limit on what we can do?
I'm not talking about individuals but I've often had the weird thought that much of what we are able to visualise as a species has in reality come to pass.
So for example, will we ever be able to teleport people?
I'm a poorly equipped layman but does quantum physics promise to unlock things we thought were impossible?

I'm no expert but my understanding of the singularity is that it's a point in the future when humans create technology which is unfathomable to our present minds and as such the future beyond that point is equally unfathomable. The singularity is a mathematical certainty I think.
So presumably on the other side they'll be able to do all sorts of crazy ****.

Why do DJ's listen into headphones at random times? The music is generally so ****ing loud they can probably already hear it.

Exactly this, which makes me laugh, if every drop of water that enters your house returns via sewage, why are there always water shortages?Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:They assume all water going in to your house will eventually leave via a drain of some sort.

What is the purpose of sports people (boxers particularly, I think) rocking their head about on their neck when warming up?

Why do radio DJs constantly blather over the beginning and end of songs?

To stretch muscles, thus mitigating (supposedly) chances of tears, pulls & strains. Also, to loosen up their head movement a bit, which is a vital component to sound defending.vietnammer wrote:What is the purpose of sports people (boxers particularly, I think) rocking their head about on their neck when warming up?

If everyone at a completely full Wembley Stadium had a dump, how much matter would there be? Would it fill an Olympic Sized swimming pool, or something more modest, say a 10m pool?
Often wondered this at large events for some reason.

Average poo is 1lb a day so 90,000lbs of poo would probably only fill 1/60th of an Olympic size pool (based on an Olympic pool holding 660,430 gallons and a gallon weighs roughly 8lb)pablo jaye wrote:If everyone at a completely full Wembley Stadium had a dump, how much matter would there be? How far into the future could I go if I could accelerate myself to near light speed and still come back to about the same age?
