Re: Michail Antonio
Not good news, but Jack thinks he could be back sooner which gives us some hope.
He's a real athlete isn't he. Must bench at least 150kg. Animal.

Re: Michail Antonio
Possibly back for sunderland away on the 15th april or failing that everton at home. He is the player we have no cover for. Provides goals and assists and always puts a shift in.
The alternatives are snodgrass and fegouli. Would give feg the chance as at least he takes players on .
Doubt we will see Reid again this season as he always takes longer to recover than expected. Kouyate to replace him.
Obiang is also a huge loss. Fernandez in for him.

We're f**ked, too many injuries to players crucial to us.

Re: Michail Antonio
f*** me, just pay him the going rate and his true value to the side and the fact he gives 100% without exception. He should definitely be on or very close to parity as far as I'm concerned...

Re: Michail Antonio
Be 'interesting' to see how he responds to this. On the one hand it's a traditional agent negotiating move. On the other he is a 27 year-old at the top of his game in a team that has just massively under-performed. I'm not sure if a bigger club would take him on, but it's his window of opportunity.Colours never run wrote:**** me, just pay him the going rate and his true value to the side and the fact he gives 100% without exception. Will he sulk or will he play even harder to attract attention?

Re: Michail Antonio
He has responded well to treatment...being well treated with a new contract that is. He is apparently available for selection for the Arsenal game...amazing

Re: Michail Antonio
I still don't doubt he'll eventually sign it after an improved offer more on parity but come on, was it absolutely necessary to Dick around if you're prepared to offer him more by rewarding his recent form etc, had his name been Dimitri Antonio, I'm sure they wouldn't have hesitated making him the most expensive player at the Club...

Re: Michail Antonio
Top scorer so far this year, near enough top scorer last year, he should be near enough parity to Snodgrass and Fonte and even Carroll.

Re: Michail Antonio
Too right...and deserves parity on application and effort alone...has been a shining light in a dull campaign. The owners will say it's a new signing though...in the hope it sells more season tickets.thejackhammer wrote:Top scorer so far this year, near enough top scorer last year, he should be near enough parity to Snodgrass and Fonte and even Carroll.

Re: Michail Antonio
His agent (Unique Sport Management) have told West Ham that a deal is not even close .... he;s contracted until 2020 but I'd be amazed if he's here next year ....

Re: Michail Antonio
Genuine question - but is there any other club that tells the world that they are going to offer key players new contracts six months before they actually do? Is the purpose of this to improve the players confidence/contribution?
even more concerning with Reid when it also seems to come with news of a £15m release clause
FWIW, I think Antonio would want to go if a CL club came in for him. He's continually shown ambition to move on to teams higher up the league. I don't think anyone would meet our valuation though.

Which is not very much according to the noises coming from Antonio's camp.hammer1975 wrote:I don't think anyone would meet our valuation though.
Chelsea were sniffing around him in the last window weren't they, even made an approach according to some reports.
G&S really are classless, tactless wombles. Offer him what he's worth FFS.

Re: Michail Antonio
I'd be surprised if anyone wants to stay to be honest, maybe Carroll and Noble, but thats about it.Adam 'The Smudge' wrote:Id be surprised if he's with us next season.
Why stay somewhere so unstable with so much self made negativity?
Re: Michail Antonio
So what is he worth?
There is no doubt he should have a pay rise for his efforts, but he only signed his last contract (until 2020) less than a year ago.
Only one goal this year, stupid sending off.
He probably looks at some of his team mates and rightly thinks I should be getting more than them and with Hazard eyeing Spain, Conte will no doubt be looking for alternatives.
However if his agent is looking for silly money we should not cave in.
Got a bad feeling about the way this is going.

Re: Michail Antonio
Conte replacing Hazard with Antonio would be right up there with swapping Payet for Snodgrass.
