Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Garcia in all sorts of bother on 13 - luckily it's a par 5 and he might still make par but expect Rose to birdie this hole as he has each round so far. Rose's to lose now it seems.
Edit. Garcia saves his par and Rose only manages a par. Momentum changer??? Great viewing.

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Advantage Garcia on the fourteenth green. Can he hold his nerve and sink it?
edit: he can and does, pulling back to one shot behind.

What a shot from Sergio on the 15th - eagle putt left.
Edit. And he nails it, back in the lead.

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Rose birdies 15 and we are all square, both -9 with three to play. Classic matchplay now.

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
What a great way to spend a sunday night sipping a lovely Chilean Merlot watching two European golfers going toe to toe for the Masters and doing it in great spirit too. I would be more than happy to see Rose win but how wonderful would it be to see Sergion finally win a Major title - especially on what would have been Ballesteros' 60th birthday.

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Sergio's putting lets him down again, Rose one up with two to play.

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Win Win this, i like both guys and will always support the British golfers. Always been a Garcia fan for all the great Ryder Cup European moments. I'm kind of leaning towards Garcia though as he is one of the golfs 'Nearly' Men and so I would love him to win a major after so many close calls over 20 odd years.
Fantastic stuff though

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Advantage Garcia on 17. Rose will have a sand wedge in his hands next, Garcia a putter.
edit: Garcia's putting again...
He had a chance to birdie and quit on the shot leaving it a fair bit short. Fortunately for him Rose dropped a shot. All square going down 18

Don't know how Rose's putt stayed out. Poor old Sergio's was never going in.
sudden death it is then.

I don't really watch golf (Ryder cup excluded but this has been riveting stuff) , not sure who I want to win this one.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:Garcia has a putt to win

Re: The Masters Thread with Prediction Comp
Garcia's putts on 17 and 18 looked very tentative and unsure. 18 was missing from the moment it left the face. They were both the sort of putts where something deep in the recesses of his mind had already accepted he was going to miss and didn't want to leave a long one coming back. It's a real shame for him because he's one of the best iron players out there, he just can't back it up with the putter.
