Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
-------------------------Adrian
Masuaku-----Collins---Reid-----Cresswell
---------------Fernandez-----Kouyate
Feghouli------------Lanzini-------------Snodgrass
-------------------------Ayew
With the team news I'd play that, could also drop Ayew back to the wing and replace either Snoddy or Feghouli with Fletcher up top. To be honest I would give Fletcher a run out, we have nothing else to play for this season.

Whoever gets shoe horned into the vacant RB position needs someone with far more defensive abilities than Feghouli in front of them

Going on the team news:
----------------------Adrian
-----------Fonte---Collins---Reid (c)
Fernandes-------Kouyate---------Cresswell
Snodgrass-----------------------Masuaku
----------------------Lanzini
-----------------------Ayew
Wouldn't play Feghouli as whoever's in front of the makeshift RB will need to work twice as hard.

Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
It'll be Nordtveit at RB, which means a harrowing day for the left-most CB.
Which is likely to be Reid, who's just back from a lay-off. The odds on him 'doing an Antonio' have got to be non-negligible given the number of sprints he's going to find himself doing.

I cannot cope with the idea of Masuaku at RB
Left backs don't make good right backs ... Tried it with Paul Brush once

Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
snodgrass would do fine at wing back. despite not offering much up front he's done a decent job of covering his man and we've been relatively solid down that flank (for us) of late as a result.

Can't see us getting anything out of this. Slav will go with.

Slav hasn't been with it this year but I can't see him starting 12 players.Briggsy wrote:Can't see us getting anything out of this. Slav will go with.

Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
Given the complete lack of anything vaguely like a right back, logically we'd go 3 at the back - the trouble is, I think Lukaku would have a field day with us playing a formation we're not used to (he;s bad enough when we allegedly know what we're doing!)
I'd go with something like:
-------------- Adrian -------------
Nordveit -- Fonte -- Reid -- Masuoka
Kouyate -----Fernandes --- Cresswell
--------------- Lanzini -----------------
-------- Sakho ---------- Ayew ----------
Failing that, how close is Rice to being able to play 1st team? Could he survive a debut with Nordveit in front of him to help protect?

For the first time this season I am not looking forward to this game. Darren Randolph in goal against Lukaku. God help us.

We'll need one hell of a performance to win tomorrow. I'll settle for a point right off the bat actually.

Just seen one bookmaker offering odds against for Lulaku scoring tomorrow. Free money that is.
Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
Hopefully Cresswell and Masuaku on the left
Adrian
Fonte Cheik Collins
Snodgrass Nordtveit Lanzini Cresswell
Ayew Calleri Masuaku
Would like to see Nordtveit and Calleri get a full game with Nordtveit playing his actual position.
Prefer Feghouli over Snodgrass but Feghouli too lazy to play wing back

I know we can't help it as we're down to the bare bones, but that is one proper shocking looking team. We haven't a hope in hell tomorrow against one really strong, we'll organised and well managed team that doesn't have a weak link in it

Re: West Ham United v Everton Match thread
I could only get 19/20 on Lukaku anytime. Still got a tenner on it, basically free money.
Hopefully we can score twice.

"Doesn't reid play right back for New Zealand? He certainly did when he first joined us.." Georgee P. I was thinking the same thing. However, the one time he started RB was at Villa Park on the first game of the season we got relegated in. He was torn apart by Albrighton if I remember correctly. That was his debut for us.
