West Ham Utd 0-4 Liverpool (14/05/17)
We've done ok in my recent match threads so I figured I'd have a bash at this one, as it's the last home game of the season.
One more big win to push those lovely season tickets. KUMB on you Irons!

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
It's nights like last night that will sell season tickets not all the transfer crap.
Let's hope for a few more nights/days like that next season.
We won't lose against Liverpool. Might not win but we won't lose.

the mickeys i know have downgraded this from must win to a good point in the last 24 hours.
Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
Klopp cannot win against us.
They might get a draw if the ref robs us again.

It must be maddening to be a Liverpool fan this year. They're unbeaten against the top eight but have lost six games against those below including each of relegation battling Palace, Hull and Swansea.
Play like last night and they're certainly beatable.

shame really, i mean it's exactly the sort of game fernandes should get under his belt, but cheik is always a monster against the scousers.MD_HM wrote:Fernandes in Kouyate and keep the rest the same would be my choice

More of the same please - high tempo energy, closing down and good counter attacking. Liverpool are good going forward but suspect at the back and can be got at.
Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
Adrian
Fonte Nordtveit Collins
Byram Noble Lanzini Fernandes Masuaku
Ayew Calleri
I read earlier today that Reid and Cheik need to have operations so i'd rather not play them
Think we'll get a 1-1 draw out of this game. Calleri goal hopefully

Show the same level of commitment that we did against Tottenham and we can beat anyone - I can see Jonathan Calleri scoring his second and third goal of the season against Liverpool next Sunday .

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
This is a real chance to set us up nicely for next season (and beyond).
If we managed to replicate the passion and commitment from Friday (on and off the pitch) - not to mention the result - hopefully the players would go into next season actually looking forward to next game at the London Stadium.
Therefore I expect Slaven to rally the troops in similar fashion as before TH, rather than removing his foot slightly from the pedal.
This is however my 2+2=4 way of thinking. Our club tend more often than not to deliver a surprise answer when put to the test.

Lets destroy the bin dippers and put another group of severely delusional supporters in their place.

Calleri HAS to score sooner or later - and not a Dowie style own goal after a barren season 2-0 Calleri double - watch out for your hubcaps if your driving

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
Got to go with the exact same XI if all are fit and available. Wouldn't be fair on any of them to be dropped and with a full week off and just one home game left, they do not need a rest.
Lanzini is buzzing, got to be worth backing for an anytime goal.
edit... in light of Kouyate confirmed out, Fernandes has to come in.... the rest stays the same.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread
I can't believe one of you dropped Calleri..... I don't think people understand how football or this formation works. If you remove Calleri it will stifle everything. His pressing and intelligent runs is a nightmare for defences. 2 of the best CBs in the Prem couldn't handle him. His runs creates huge spaces for Lanzini and Ayew to run into. Remember Lanzini having two clear runs through on goal? He was smart and ran in behind Walker while Calleri dragged the CB's the other way.
I know he hasn't banged them in but he is like a frozen car, just let him keep revving and it will get going. Bar a great save from Lloris, he would of scored vs Spurs. Has no one noticed how much faster and fitter he is each match? Imagine when he has played 10 games straight.
He is essential to this system that seems to be working. The goals will come.
Dont change anything imo. Show the same work rate and passion and we will beat Liverpool.

Yh but we are safe now so let's play the kids, lose 5-0 and undo all the good work from last few weeks. Completely agree with everything you've written mate. Calleri has to start and will start.I am Legend wrote:I can't believe one of you dropped Calleri..... I don't think people understand how football or this formation works.
