Pool A: Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Europe 1, play-off winner (Europe 2 v Oceania 3)
Pool B: New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Africa 1, repechage winner
Pool C: England, France, Argentina, Americas 1, Oceania 2
Pool D: Australia, Wales, Georgia, Oceania 1, Americas 2
Seems as good a draw as could be expected. France can top anyone, and we'll be facing the convicts or leek-nudgers if we make it out of our pool, so the usual "their cup final" rules apply. Jones is no Lancaster, though, and I don't imagine he's going to be pleased if we don't make it to at least the Semis.

The luck of the Irish eh! Look at that for a group, jammy ****ers.
Could have been worse for England, I'd expect us to beat both France and Argentina on neutral territory to top the group. Likely to be Samoa and USA as the other two games. Will be a very physical few games that's for sure.

Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup
Scotland are 5th by beating Ireland, Wales and South Africa and a narrow loss to the Aussies I think. Dear old ranking system. There's no way you should be doing a draw this far out. It's daft.
England's group is tough but we'll certainly not be undercooked should any knock out phase come through. We also avoid the Kiwis in the QFs this way. That joy will befall the runner up in Group A.

The French are less than happy about this
We, for the moment, are better then them and Argentina is their bogey team. Fellow latins, like the Italians, who know how to get under their skin.
A very tough group, with no "easy" match where we can rotate the whole squad. As has been said, if we lake it out of the group, the players will be match sharp! And battered and bruised...

I don't get it. Why do the draw this soon, the rankings could change by a lot by the World Cup.dave_l wrote:Dear old ranking system. There's no way you should be doing a draw this far out. It's daft.
