It's unsurprising, with a few real disappointments in there. AWJ over Launchbury? Halfpenny even being there? Not sure about Warburton as captain. Has the Welsh captaincy taken away from him because it was affecting his game and now Lions captain. Seems odd.

Thank the Lord the Robers rumours were just that. He's been bang average for Quins this year and doesn't even start for Wales any more.

Can only see a bashing by the ABs here - particularly given the Welsh-centric focus. They are on the wane big time and we're distinctly average in the last 6N. Don't think that Owens and Biggar are good enough, however, there is potential with the scrum and Daly, Seymour, Nowell, Joseph and Williams in the backs could be instersting.

This could very well be a low watermark, potentially worse than Clive Woodward's ill-fated tour.

It's hard to see anything but a lot of defeats for Wales + guests here. Playing all of the franchise teams ahead of the ABs so close together makes it hard enough as it is.

I don't see too much wrong with that selection to be honest. Launchbury over AWJ would be the only one I would definitely change. Scots are up in arms about only having a couple in there which amuses me.

Still will find it tough going against the All Blacks they are such a well-oiled machine with so much quality in every position.

Which TV channels are going to show us get tonked out of interest?

I love the fact the sweats are going on one about lack of there players in the squad - even more so when you think that there are as many Kiwi's in the squad as scots.

I fully realise that the Welsh are the far superior players but your deference is embarrassing , give those 16 English players some respect for goodness sake .

So they've arrived....first selection announced at 8pm tonight....all starts now!!

Real shame about Billy....surely he'll start with Faletau with Moriarty off the bench. Haskell is just there for back row cover & banter IMO

The f*** are they doing singing in Welsh?

Gatland does realise it's the British Lions, right?

Apparently they've got a different choir leader for each country....just the first one was Welsh.

Farrell looked classy and Watson finished his try off very well....can't think of too much else though!

Can only get better I suppose!

Yes, a crap game played by one side who had been together for a week and another still clearly suffering jet lag.

I wasn't expecting much when I saw the sides and clearly this won't be anything like the starting XV for the first test. Farrell, Watson and Sinckler all did their causes some good but disappointment from Hogg and Laidlaw.

I can't see anything other than a 3-0 series win for the ABs. To many players in the Lions who are too old, not up to the level of the ABs or are off form. Also for some reason, there doesn't appear to be that unity or bond of previous teams.

How dare you besmirch Warren Gatland's tactics, just because they are completely out of tune with the modern game and are liable to see the Lions lose all three tests and the significant midweek games!

Agreed. I just hope the England lads come back relatively unscathed. Gatland's tactics haven't exactly been setting the world on fire for Wales recently, let alone against NZ and the sort of performance we say today is unsurprising but also very depressing.

Awful wasn't it Dan and Dave? Kicking the ball at every opportunity until we were desperate for a try.
